| Hazel Levesque-- Spoiler:
- Spoiler:
Name of character: Hazel Levesque
Physical Description: Hazel has dark skin that looks as warm as cocoa with long, curly cinnamon-colored brown hair that tumbles down her shoulders. She has eyes that are described as “golden like 14 Karats”, attributes of her father, Pluto, who is described as the god of riches. Like all the other Roman demigods, Hazel is marked with the letters SPQR on her arm and one stripe for one year of service. Frank describes her as being beautiful. She usually wears full armor (when guarding the tunnel to Camp Jupiter) or simple clothing, such as jeans and her purple camp shirt. When going into battle, she is seen carrying a spatha, a cavalry sword.
Personality Description*: Hazel is outgoing and honest, who is very mature for her age. She has a love for creativity such as drawing, and a love for horses. Hazel feels very queasy on boats, and has a strong dislike for curses such as her own. When charging into battles or supporting her friends, Hazel is very confident and brave. She is very good at using intelligence and natural instincts to get her and her friends out of tight situations. Whenever she does something she knows was wrong, Hazel feels very guilty and is determined to go to long lengths to make things right again. Sometimes, Hazel can be embarrassed at things, such as one of her friends trying to comfort her. She can be secretive about things at times, especially about her past, because she’s afraid of what people would think about her if they knew the truth. Hazel’s favorite food is shrimp gumbo, comfort food that reminds her of her hometown, New Orleans. Hazel also knows a bit of Louisiana French. Hazel is fierce, brave and passionate, with a deep love for those she cares about. At the same time, she does have a soft, affectionate, and caring side. Some of her powers include ADHD (Demigod’s battle reflexes), Dyslexia (Her brain is hard-wired for Latin), precious metal/material kinetic abilities (the ability to summon and control precious materials from the Earth, something that she views as a terrible curse), geokinesis (the ability to find underground tunnels and passageways and use them to her advantage), and death sense (the ability to sense when a person or creature has died, and the ability to sense undead warriors before she sees them.)
Character History**: Hazel was born on December 17, 1928 in New Orleans. Her parents were Marie Levesque, “Queen Marie,” and Pluto, the Roman god of the dead and riches. Marie, Hazel’s mom, summoned Pluto using a spell, and the two fell in love. But Marie grew to use Hazel’s power for her own selfishness, in her desire to be rich. Her desire to be rich led to her own grief and mental instability. But the jewels that Hazel collected were cursed, causing anyone who bought them from Marie to suffer in painful ways. Marie was in denial and didn’t believe that her own greed was the reason for the cursed jewels, and so she blamed it on Pluto. Hazel only had one friend, Sammy Valdez, whom she had a crush on. Soon rumors began to spread about Marie and the cursed jewels, so Marie moved them to Seward, Alaska, a place that Marie thought was “beyond the power of the gods.” Hazel never saw Sammy again. While in Alaska, Hazel and her mother were being possessed by “The Voice,” (which was actually Gaea). Gaea was using them to awaken her son, Alcyoneus, using metals under the Earth on an island. Once Hazel realized the true dangers of what was going on, she used her powers to destroy the island, killing Alcyoneus. This was truly brave, because she and her mother were also killed, but for the better good of stopping Alcyoneus. Because of Hazel’s bravery, a war was narrowly avoided. Hazel and her mother were then sent to the Underworld. For her bravery, Hazel had the option of going to Elysium, which is paradise in the Underworld. But Hazel gave that up in order to save her mother from being sent to the Fields of Punishment. Therefore, both of them were sent to the Fields of Asphodel. About seventy years later, Nico diAngelo, son of Hades, brought Hazel back from the dead, because she was a daughter of Pluto, therefore his sister. He was able to bring her back because the Doors of Death were open. He had wanted to save his sister, Bianca, but she had tried for rebirth. Once Hazel was back on Earth, she made it to the Wolf House, and eventually to Camp Jupiter. At Camp Jupiter, Hazel was put in the Fifth Cohort, and was considered among the camp as weird. Her closest friend there was Frank. Once Percy makes it to Camp Jupiter, Hazel becomes close friends with him. When Frank receives a quest from his father, Mars, he chooses Hazel and Percy to join him. The quest is to go to Alaska and find Thanatos, the god of death, and free him from his chains. They go through many journeys before they find that Alcyoneus was the one who had Thanatos imprisoned. They managed to defeat Alcyoneus and free Thanatos. Percy finds the eagle of the Twelfth Legion and the three of them head back to Camp Jupiter on Hazel’s super-speed horse, Arion. Camp Jupiter was being invaded, and Hazel sets off into battle. The Campers manage to defeat all the monsters, and once that is over Hazel goes to Thanatos to ask him if she is on the list of escaped souls. Thanatos tells her that she isn’t, and that he believes her father has pardoned her. Hazel shows her affection for Frank finally, and peace is restored.
RP Sample***: Hazel left her bunk in the fifth cohort one morning, making her way sleepily to the Field of Mars. They were having a marching drill first thing in the morning, which Hazel found ridiculous. But what with the monsters reforming faster than they used to, Hazel figured that it would be any minute before the camp was invaded. This worried her, but she knew that she had to be ready. Hazel followed other members of her cohort towards the Field of Mars. She noticed suddenly that Frank was nowhere to be seen. She immediately began to worry for her slightly clumsy friend. What if he overslept? Hazel sighed, biting her lip. She had to check, just to make sure that he was okay. She broke away from the group she was walking with silently, and made her way back to the Fifth Cohort bunks. She didn’t know which bunk Frank was in, so she just poked her head through the doors to all of them, but all of them were empty. Confused, Hazel decided that he must have already made his way to the Field of Mars before everybody else. She was about to turn away from the last bunk when she heard a cry coming from inside it. She whirled around and ran inside, looking around. But there was nobody there. Now she was really confused. “Hello?” she called out. “Hazel?” Came Frank’s voice from somewhere in the room. “Help!” “Where…” Hazel asked, trailing off, until she looked up and noticed that Frank was tied to a rope on the ceiling, swinging back and forth helplessly. If she hadn’t been so worried for him, Hazel might have laughed. But instead, she stifled a gasp. “Frank! Uh, don’t worry, I’ll help you!” She searched around helplessly for a ladder, or something she could climb up to go and untie the knot and let Frank down. But there was nothing like that in the bunk. Desperately, Hazel pulled a bed across the room so that it was aligned with where Frank was suspended from the ceiling. “Watch out!” Hazel yelled as she pulled out her spatha, and threw it in the air in Frank’s direction. Luck was on her side today, because the spatha flew through the air and sliced through the rope. Frank fell through the air and landed onto the bed. Hazel rushed over. “Frank! Are you okay?” Frank sighed. “Ah… Not really. But yeah.” “What happened?” Hazel asked worriedly. “Some jerks from the First Cohort tied me up to the ceiling, so that I couldn’t get down until someone rescued me,” Frank explained. Hazel was filled with a rush of anger. “Why would they do that?” Frank shrugged indifferently. “They probably wanted to pull a mean prank. Make me miss the marching drill so that Reyna would put me on probatio again.” Frank and Hazel weren’t liked at all by the other campers. They considered them the two biggest losers in the whole camp. By now, Hazel had gotten used to it. But what just happened was taking it too far. Hazel wanted to hurt whoever would do something like that to Frank. “Well,” Hazel decided, “There’s still time to make it to the marching drill. We could go down there and make it on time. It’ll make the people who did that to you really mad.” Frank grinned. “Deal.” Hazel extended her hand, and Frank took it. He stood up shakily. “Let me get my bow and quiver…” Frank mumbled, stumbling to his bunk and pulling out his bow and quiver from under it. He swung his quiver across his shoulder and hefted up his bow. Despite everything, Hazel smiled. She was glad that he was okay. “Let’s go!” Why do you desire to RP this character, and do you have the responsibility to do so effectively?: I liked Hazel a lot when I was reading SoN, and I really want to RP her because I like all her characteristics, her strength and bravery and emotion. And yep, I do have the responsibility to RP her. Hayzel Lewis-- Spoiler:
- Spoiler:
Character Name: Hayzel Lewis Gender: Female Age: 15 Description (hair and eye color, height, body type (skinny, muscular, etc) required): Hair: Long, naturally wavy, dirty blond hair, Eye color: Startling gray, Height: 5’7, Body type: Athletic God and mortal parent: God Parent: Athena, goddess of wisdom, Mortal parent: William Lewis, a college professor Powers**: None Flaws***: Overly proud of herself, perfectionist, quick temper Pets: An owl named Daemon Weapon****: A celestal bronze spear Talents/Skills: Talented at all types of combat, a quick thinker
RP Example*: Hayzel frowned at the battle map that she had spread out on the desk, looking at all the soldier’s positions. She had been working hard, trying to make sure that her plan had no flaws, but whatever scenario she tried to put the army in, something always seemed to backfire. Hayzel yawned. It was already late at night, and she was getting sleepy. She rolled the battle map back up and decided to talk to Chiron about it the following day.
Biography*: Athena met Hayzel’s father, William, when she sat in on one of his lectures about history at the college he teaches at. They talked afterwards, and had dinner that Friday night, discussing their educational and political beliefs. They had a lot in common. Eventually, Athena thought up a baby girl to give to William, and named her Hayzel. Gave Hayzel to William after revealing her true identity to him. He freaked out, and didn’t know what to do with a baby. He tried raising Hayzel, but eventually he decided that he couldn’t take it, and gave her up for adoption at the age of five. Athena was furious. At the adoption home, Hayzel got visited by monsters constantly. She decided she couldn’t take it and ran away. She got found by another demigod and was brought to camp, where she now stays year-round. Notes: No notes. Stephen Lewis-- Spoiler:
- Spoiler:
Character Name: Stephen Lewis
Gender: Male
Age: 14
Description (hair and eye color, height, body type (skinny, muscular, etc) required): Dirty blond hair that is kind of long (but not too long) and sweeps across his forehead (but NOT justin beiber style. That would be terrifying, no offense to beiber fans) striking gray eyes, tall, and muscular.
God and mortal parent: Athena, William Lewis, college professor
Powers**: None
Flaws***: Overly proud of himself, quick temper, introvert
Pets: A brown barn owl named Bob.
Weapon****: A long celestial bronze spear and shield, occasionally a celestial bronze sword.
Talents/Skills: Amazing sword fighter (in both hand to hand combat and long distance combat), quick thinker, master strategist
RP Example*: Stephen stared up at the fluffy white clouds floating in the big, blue sky. He was sitting on a park bench, with Bob the barn owl perched on his shoulder. Stephen was thinking about who his father might be, who his mother was, and whether or not he had any siblings. Stephen always wondered what it would be like to have siblings, like there was on TV shows, movies, and books. Stephen sighed, and glanced down at his watch. It was 5 now, he had to get back to the orphanage. If he was late, Miss Terrafina would beat him. Stephen got up and walked out of the park.
Biography*: Stephen was separated at birth from his intended father. Athena thought of Stephen like she did with all her other children, but she didn’t send Stephen with his father and older sister like normal. She knew two half-bloods in the same house would be risky, so she sent him to an orphanage in New York City for his safety. Ever since Stephen was young, he took a great interest in war, reading, learning, owls, and deathly weapons. He always wondered who his family was and why they gave him up to the orphanage. The orphanage was terribly cruel to him, especially the headmistress, Miss Terrafina. She turned out to be a monster. At the age of 14, when he was starting to get too old for the orphanage, Miss Terrafina called Stephen down to the main office and attacked him. She was a monster. Stephen ran out of the orphanage, with his only fried (who turns out to be a satyr) helped him get to camp.

On the beach, Arabella sat down and kicked off her orange flip flops, and stared at the waves. The sun was setting down low, and it cast a beautiful reflection on the ocean. Arabella took in a sweet breath of sea air. After a few minutes, the horn blew, calling all the campers to dinner. Arabella stood up, dusted the sand off her legs, slipped her flip flops back on, and left the beach.
Biography*: Arabella’s father, Jimmy, attracted Aphrodite only because he was good looking. Soon after Aphrodite gave birth to Arabella, she left Jimmy, breaking his heart. For years and years Jimmy was sad, but soon he found love again and got married. Arabella grew up in a happy family with her father and her stepmom. But when Jimmy got promoted, he started going on business trips for short periods of time. And whenever he was gone, Arabella’s stepmom, Rochelle, wasn’t nice to Arabella anymore. Rochelle was abusive of Arabella and had Arabella do whatever Rochelle didn’t feel like doing, like cleaning the entire house spotless, the laundry, walking the dog. Rochelle would beat Arabella whenever she did something wrong. One day, Rochelle turned into a monster and attacked Arabella and her father. A satyr came to their rescue, and they killed off Rochelle. Arabella was safe, but she now knew she was a demigod and decided to spend summers at camp.
Notes: Aubrianna Scott-- Spoiler:
- Spoiler:
Character Name: Aubrianna “Aubri” Rose Scott
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Description (hair and eye color, height, body type (skinny, muscular, etc) required): Hair: Aubri has light brown hair that is at medium length; Eyes: dark brown eyes; Height: 5’9 Body Type: Thin
God and mortal parent: God Parent: Hestia, Mortal Parent: Matthew Scott
Powers**: Aubri has the ability to create fireballs the size of a softball. A softball is the nice size for her, a size that isn’t to small nor too big. Usually she can make fireballs that size with nothing more but a small headache. It usually depends on how long she holds it in her hands. Anything smaller than a softball requires little effort for her to make, like a small flame on one of her fingers to light up a candle, Aubri could conjure up easily. But if Aubri wanted to make a fireball the size of a basketball, Aubri would probably faint on the spot from exhaustion. Aubri can use these fireballs in combat (which rarely happens), to light up a fireplace or campfire, or just to keep her warm in cold nights. Aubri can make 6 fireballs per day, although if she did six in a row she would probably get so exhausted that she would die.
Flaws: Antisocial, shy, and a constant worrier.
Pets: None
Weapon: A long celestial bronze knife in a sheath that was given to her by her best friend.
Talents/Skills: Smart, wise, peaceful, intelligent, funny, and optimistic.
RP Example*: I pick my way carefully through the woods, heading to the usual rendezvous spot where Drew and I would always meet up. I held onto the hilt of my knife anxiously, worrying about what would happen if I got caught. I knew that I wasn’t supposed to sneak out at night, but I had to. I felt terrible betraying my father, but I just had to meet up with Drew. I pushed my way through thick bushes into the clearing that led to the small pond surrounded by rocks. As I entered the clearing, I could see Drew’s silhouette sitting on a rock, staring out at the pond. It was sunset, so the sun was causing the sky to turn a bright orange color. I raced over towards Drew, sitting myself on a rock beside him. We sat in silence for a while and just stared at the water before us.
Biography*: Hestia grew to be fond with Matthew Scott when she was visiting a national park, where he was a park ranger. She sat in on one of his tours and became very interested, and soon the two became really fast friends. She grew to respect him. One day, they were out late at a campfire in the park, when Matt told her his story. His wife, Rebecca, had died in the 9-11 attacks when she was pregnant with a baby girl. Matt had been devastated ever since and had never been able to move on. Hestia grew sympathy for him, and decided to bless him with a baby girl. She brought Aubrianna to him the next day, wrapped up in a blanket, and revealed her identity to him. Matt was shocked, but understood. From that day on Hestia never saw him again, but kept watch from Olympus as he raised their baby. Aubri grew up to be a happy young girl, until the monsters caught on to her strong scent and started chasing after her. Matt became frightened, even though Hestia had warned him it might happen. They began to move all over the country, afraid and scared. They moved 9 times until they ended up in New York, when a demigod of Apollo named Drew caught on to Aubri when she was 12 years old, and took her away to camp. Matt didn’t want this, because he didn’t want to be alone again without a daughter. But reluctantly, he let her go. She became a year-round camper, and visited him only on Christmas.
Notes:
Avory Flynn-- Spoiler:
- Spoiler:

God and mortal parent: God parent: Hermes Mortal Parent: Kasey Flynn
Powers**: Avory is a Huntress of Artemis, therefore she is immortal. From Hermes, Avory has the ability to run faster than most humans, ranging from 60-100 MPH. She can run at fast speeds for only up to 1-5 minutes. She becomes more tired depending on how fast she runs and for how long. If she goes at 100 MPH for five minutes straight without breaks, she would probably die. Avory can only use her speed 9 times per day.
Flaws: Extremely stubborn, a thief, and too self-reliant.
Pets: None
Weapon: Silver bow and celestial bronze arrows
Talents/Skills: Archery, friendliness, swimming, open-mindedness, and honesty
RP Example*: Avory swung her quiver full of celestial bronze arrows over her shoulder, grabbed her silver bow, and left the archery ranges. She made her way past the forest, carefully avoiding poisonous shrubs and plants, and headed back towards the Hunter’s camp they had set up. The moment she saw Artemis’s familiar wolves guarding camp, the tension in her shoulders drained away. Phoebe was tending to a hearth in the center of the camp, and Avory swung herself down on the grass, sighing with relief. “How did it go?” Phoebe asked. Avory sighed. “Same as always. Right on the dot.”
Biography*: Avory grew up with an alcoholic mother, Kasey Flynn, who went down the deep end when she was dumped by Hermes right after Avory was born. Avory grew up without a father, not knowing who her father even was. Besides that, she lived a normal life, except for the fact that she had an obsession with stealing to get her mother’s attention, and that she could easily run faster than anyone else in her school. She suffers from ADHD and dyslexia, so she was always picked on and had no friends, except for a boy named Daemon. He thought she was wonderful, despite all of her flaws. They were best friends up until Avory turned sixteen, when they went to prom together. At the prom, Avory was targeted by monsters, and they blew the whole school into flames. Avory managed to get out alive, but she suffered some burns. Daemon had perished in the fire. She cried for days and never got over him. Her mother told her the truth about Hermes and the Greek myths, and Avory was filled with anger. She wanted revenge for Daemon’s death. But the monsters came back, this time to Avory’s home. A hydra set Avory’s mother to flames, and forced Avory to watch her burn. Avory ran away, tired, hungry, and trusting no one. Eventually she was recruited by the Hunters of Artemis. She was claimed by Hermes, and soon began to regain her mental stability and trust in the Huntresses.
Notes: If you didn't know by now, she's a Huntress of Aretmis..
