Drake shadow-traveled beneath a large oak tree, stumbling slightly, winded from the journey. Her skin prickled and was covered in goosebumps. She shivered despite the warm air, glancing over to Eva. At least Drake was used to it, but Eva didn't travel that way very often. "You okay?"

Evangeline was white as a sheet and gripping Drake's hand like a vice. That shadowy realm always scared the daylights out of her, and she doubted she would ever get used to it. Ugh. She realized that she was pretty much cutting off Drake's circulation, and let go of her hand with a mumbled apology.

Drake shook out her hands, getting the blood flowing again as she looked at Eva in concern. She hesitated for a moment, arms lifting as she wondered whether or not it would be a good idea to hug the younger girl. But she was already cold so Drake turned away, face flushed lightly in embarrassment. "I'll go get some money, you sit down, kay?" She gestured blindly towards a nearby picnic table.

"Yeah, sure, 'kay." Evangeline managed to walk over to the bench and sit down without stumbling too badly. She sat down with a heavy sigh, and tried not to draw too much attention to herself. She noticed a group of kids around her age, boys, it seemed like, playing a game of football about forty feet away. Hopefully they wouldn't bother her or anything.

Drake walked along the park's path, eyes narrowed as she searched for her pre- er, the guy she'd nick money off of. No, those girls were only twelve or somethin, and she'd feel guilty stealing from an old lady. But that dude, with the business suit just looked like a rich bastard. Suitable for her needs. She crept over to where was walking, talking gruffly into his cell phone, and Drake "accidentally" stumbled into him, falling onto her butt and makes her eyes get teary. "Oof!"

"What where you're- oh, just a brat." The man snapped, breaking off mid sentence, his lip curling in distaste. She resisted the urge to grab her sword (she couldn't help but wonder what mortals saw - her carrying a fairy princess wand? Yeah. Right.) and stab the dude in his annoying face, but instead stood up, sniffling again and knicking the dudes wallet from his jacket pocket at he walked passed. Heh, loser.

Evangeline looked around some more. It was a good idea to watch out for creepers, and it helped her stay awake. She tried to keep her gaze away from where Drake was, in case it caused someone to notice her nefarious activities. Ice cream stand, football children, people walking, hot dog stand across the street, someone walking a poodle, football... football headed for the table. How did they throw it that far? Luckily, it did not predictably hit Eva in the head, but rather landed right next to the picnic table. Someone called for her to throw it back, and she pretended not to hear.

Drake walked further down the path until the guy was far enough away, before ducking behind a tree and seeing how much she'd scored. Her face lit up - 80 whole bucks! Just think of the icecream that'd buy! She stuck the cash in her pocket, throwing the wallet and credit cards into a nearby pond, before making her way back. She needed to ask what Eva wanted, after all.

When Evangeline failed to toss the ridiculously shaped object back to the boys, one of them ran over as if to retrieve it. "'Ey, what's your deal, girl?" he asked in a mildly irritated tone. Evangeline ignored him, too, opting instead to watch the lady walking her poodle. Such a funny looking dog, with its fur shaved in places and fluffed up in others.

Drake's eyes found Eva after a moment and she paused, shoulders stiffening. She narrowed her eyes - who was that asshole boy talking to her best friend? Her fists clenched and she began to pick up her pace.

The boy rolled his eyes at this weirdo girl and picked up his football. "You all alone out here or somethin'? You should come play with us," he added the last part with a snicker. As if a girl could play football with boys. Evangeline did not appreciate his tone, so she turned to glare at him. "Piss off."

Drake stilled, watching Eva's reaction, and that was it. Like Hades was that son of a bitch going to talk to her like that! She would tear off his head and shove it up his ass and cut off all his limbs and let Squish drag him to the depths of tartarus! Eva. Was. Her's. With a snarl, she marched over to the boy and stopped with her arms cross. "Can I help you?" Choke on your own tongue, that is.

By then, a couple of the other boys had wandered over, wondering what was going on, and observed the situation. They muttered and smirked among themselves. Blood rushed to Evangeline's face. Oooh, she was so angry. Good thing Drake showed up and all the boys in the background shut up real quick. But the talking one seemed to be too stupid to comprehend the danger he was in. "Yeah, you can (snicker) play football with us!"

Drake grinned nicely, even as her eyes were narrowed in warning. "Of course I'll play! But you do mean I connect my foot with your balls, right? Wouldn't want there to be any misunderstandings." She hissed the last word, fingers twitching with the urge to break his neck.

The kid paled slightly and his cronies backed away, not wanting to get involved any further. Sensing that his backup had ditched him, he tried to weasel his way out of this situation without digging himself any deeper. "No, uh... I meant, hey, would you girls like to play with us? You know, if you, uh want to."
Evangeline rolled her eyes. Right. Sure. That was the most convincing thing she'd ever heard in her short life. If she was stronger, like Drake, she'd take them up on their offer and then beat the living shit out of them during the game. Maybe exercise was a good thing...

Drake sneered, hands on her hips as she tried to look intimidating, like Cynder did when she scared people. "Right, like we would play with you." She scoffed. "Go away, we're getting icecream." She glared at them, inwardly smiling with glee as the fact that she had scared them.

"Y-yes, uh, ma'am," the boy stammered just before the whole group completely scattered. They ran like their lives depended on it, which may have well been the case. Evangeline sighed and stood up, dusting off her skirt a bit. "Boys are really stupid," she summarized.

Hehe, he called her a ma'am. She grinned at Eva for a moment before nodding her agreement, sticking her hands in her pockets, smile widening as she felt the money. "Very stupid." She agreed, thinking of Lee and the girly-boy, what was his name... Arabian? Ja'far? Something like that. "I saw the stand over that way, you ready to go?"

"Yeah, let's go. How much cash did you snag, anyways?" There seemed to be quite a wad of money in Drake's pocket. She hoped no one else would notice it and try to rob them, even though, admittedly, that would be highly ironic.

"Bout 80 dollars," She commented, beginning to walk. The ice cream stand in the distance has a navy-blue sign on it that said something along the lines of, "Lmaa'is Fzroen Leidgths" which she assumed to be some form of stand name. The lady manning the booth was kinda wierd looking, but it was New York after all, so it wasn't too uncommon.

Evangeline's eyes widened. So much money! And in cash! She began to salivate at the thought of all the ice cream that could buy. Mountains and mountains of it! The ice cream stand they stopped at had an extremely unfriendly-for-dyslexics sign. Wow. It literally could not be any worse than that. "I like strawberry, if they have that," she told Drake. She assumed the other girl would be ordering, since she had the money.

Drake nodded, walking up to the stand and at the women. She had silvery blonde hair and really white skin and her eyes were a weird shade of brown, almost orange-y. "What can I get you?" She purred, and the brunette shifted, uncomfortable as she looked up at the menu. "Uh..." Cohaetl, noec, snklepsi- her face flushed as she realized she had no idea what they even had. "Uh, Eva...."

Evangeline mentally facepalmed. Even though the sign was horrible to read, the menu was in a better font for dyslexics, and she could make out the letters if she concentrated. She should have offered to read the thing before they got to it. Evangeline was, admittedly, a less powerful demigod, and thus less inconvenienced by the side effects of partial divinity. "There's chocolate, cones, ooh, sprinkles... vanilla and strawberry, too. Can I have a strawberry cone with sprinkles?"

Face still lightly flushed, Drake scuffed her feet. "Chocolate cone. Please." She tacked the 'please' on at the end, if for no reason other than the fact that this chick was eying them like they were a piece of meat. Creepy.

"I think that adds up to... $2.50?" She looked up at the lady behind the stand for the first time, and nearly let out a socially inept gasp. This lady was f#cking terrifying. She was almost worse than Drake's mother! "Yeah... uh... $2.50..."

Drake fished the money out and handed her a five dollar bill. The creepy lady took it, looking down at her with a strange smile. "Thankssss," She hissed out, and Drake felt her eyes widening slightly as she noticed the fairly... forked... tongue...
