I look on as he dies and a sense of relief and glory washes over me for a moment, and I stand frozen as if to make sure he wasn't still alive. What a psycho he was. I can't help but smile slightly. He was gone, I was free of him. Then I realized that I basically just killed someone.

I turn around and feel my shoulder throb where it had been slashed by the knife.

I snap out of my trance like state, walking over to Justin. "Where'd he hurt you?" I ask him, watching him carefully.

I brush the hair from Eden's cheek and say "It's just a small cut on my shoulder. I can handle it."

I nod, wrapping my arms around him, careful not to hurt him further. "Don't do that to me again." I frown at him.

I grimace and say "I did it to keep you alive. I would go to the ends of the Earth to keep you safe and happy. I love you and that is what it means to me for me to love you." I kiss her softly on the forehead.

"I understand why you did it," I say, smiling briefly before my face goes back to its current serious expression. "But it was stupid. I'll never go along with something like that no matter how much you want me to."

My face frows heated and I say softly "I am sorry for the scare that I put you through." I feel tears in my eyes as I realize that she was the one person who I had actually just risked my life for. That was a bit of a shocking experience thinking about that.

I look at him and notice the tears in his eyes. "Noo. It's fine. I just wanted to tell you not to try to risk yourself like that for me again, I'd never just leave you there. You weren't really the one who scared me. It wasn't your fault, it was... his." I don't say his name. He didn't exist anymore. He didn't have a name. And I was the cause of that. My brow furrows, bothered by this.

I smile slightly and say "It's not that. I am just realizing that I risked my life for you and I may not have seen you again. I don't want to lose you which put me in the situation of sacrificing myself to him."

"Thank you," I say and smile weakly, flattered that he even thought of it that way. As a child I was always taught one thing: you fend for yourself and yourself only. Not that I myself followed those rules, which is why my father would get mad at me, but I never expected anyone else to break them. Tears fill my eyes but I fight them. I will not cry like an over-emotional person, though I did deserve to right now.

I think of several songs that I had heard and see the tears. I lean over and 'kiss away the tears' on her cheeks. "You're welcome"

I lean against him slightly. "My life is really screwed up." I mutter quietly, more of a statement, not meant to be responded to.

I think about it for a while and then say "It can't be any more screwed up than mine has been." I hold her close to me.

"Probably not." I say, resigning. I stay there for a while with him, thinking about a lot of different things.

I sigh and turn to Eden. "I need to go somewhere quiet for a little while. Do you want to come or not?"

I smile and take her hand leading her toward my car on the outskirts of camp.

Sage barricaded the area and secured all the medical supplies. then he went back out to finish the MRE.

I walk up to the infirmary with Jance, but it looked weird. I pull at the door but it was nailed shut, as were all the windows. I curse under my breath.

I walkin. "easy." I say and slam my foot against the door.

"Wait.." I say, peering inside. I don't see anyone but they were bound to be inside. The rebels were completely mental. I grab some nectar, a few magically-filling cups, and some bandages/tape. I take his good arm again. "We probably shouldn't stay here."

I say and look around.

"Jance..." I mutter. "We need to get out of the infirmary, I grabbed stuff we need. Come onnnn," I drag out the last word a bit for emphasis.
