"Oh. Uh, that time was better!" She assured. Well, she could at least feel it that time. Maybe they really did need to start with push-ups first, if she was that weak. Or... Drakes eyes caught the glint of metal out of the corner of her eye and turned her head, bringing her hands down. "Hold on a sec," She told Evangeline before trotting over to the edge if the arena and picking up what appeared to be a kind of metal pole.

Evangeline eyed the metal object in Drake's hands suspiciously. "What's that supposed to be?" she called, not feeling like following her friends over there to ask the question. She was holding a very heavy sword, after all, and everyone knows that heavy things mysteriously become heavier when you have to move them around.

Drake just shook her head, brown hair hitting her face - ugh, she needed a ponytail or something - as she jogged back over. The pole, well, rod really, was moderately heavy, but not As heavy as a sword. It would work as a practice one. Like a Baton. Well, it'd be fine. "Here," she thrust it out in front of her. "Try this."

Evangeline dropped the sword in the dirt and reached out with both hands for the pole. She took it, and it was light enough to actually maneuver, even if she wasn't lifting it with both arms. "Yeah, this is better. Not as excruciatingly painful to hold."

Drake winced as the sword was dropped - it was gonna get blunt and all scuffed up. Ugh. She put her hands on her hips, rocking slightly on her heels. "Your gonna use this to get used to the weight, and I can still teach you stances ad stuff with it. In a few weeks we can switch back to the actual sword." She announced.

Ugh. She hated the sword. It had become a symbol of pain and suffering, and she had a feeling the metal stick was going to end up that way, too. "Fine, fine... where are we going to start with this... thing, then?"

Drake's grin was positively devious. "Now, of course!" Drake drew her sword from its sheath once more, the weight familiar and comforting her her hands. It was almost as comforting as Boo- almost, but not quite. She absently adjusted her position, shoulders relaxed and chin jutted up. "Copy the way in standing." She ordered..

Evangeline moved the position her feet were in to copy Drake's stance, and tried to relax despite the fact that she was holding a heavy object in front of her. She held her head high, looking way more confident than she felt. Mimicry was something she was good at, but she didn't seem to have it quite... right.

Drake bit her lip absently, eyes narrowing in concentration. "Your feet need to be further apart, and your elbows- see, they are out too far, ya wanna fix that, and make sure your balance is correct." She commented, feeling somewhat delighted. It was fun, knowing she was helping.

Evangeline followed Drake's instructions to the best of her ability, and sincerely hoped she got it right this time. If she needed too much correcting, it would be horribly embarrassing, and she'd be like a total arse. "Is this correct?" she asked. Her arms were starting to tire from holding the pole, but she didn't want to admit that even the lighter weapon was still too heavy for her spindly arms.

Drake pursed her lips a moment before nodding, shooting a bright grin over at get companion. "Yep!" She crowed, twirling her sword lazily. "Now, run a lap around the arena and come back." She instructed.

"W-WHAT? No!" A whole lap around the arena? That was ridiculous! The arena was friggin' huge! There was no way she could do that and survive. Evangeline made a pleading expression, trying to play on Drake's sympathies. "Haven't I done enough for one day?"

The young demigod made a face - no, the puppy dog look would get Eva no where! This was for her own good! Drake crossed her arms. "We've only been out here 15 minutes and all you did was pick up a sword and then a pole." She pointed vaguely in the direction of the wall. "Now go do the lap 'fore I get Squish to lick you to death."

Eva sighed and set the pole down in the dirt. She didn't want the hellhound to lick her and get her nice clothes all dirty, so she set off in a slow sort of jog to the wall of the arena. Hopefully Drake wouldn't nag her to go any faster, because she wasn't entirely sure that she could, to be frank.

Drake watched her friend run, a smug, yet slightly proud look on her face. When she was done with Eva, they would be the baddest demigod duo the world had ever seen. She fantasizes about slating hydras, getting a quest and getting the bad guys. Drake sighed softly, grinning to herself.

About halfway through the trip around the arena, Evangeline fell down and had no will to get back up. Getting back up meant more running. No. No. Drake couldn't make her do any more, she was done. Dead to this world. Done.

Drakes fantasies ended abruptly upon hearing a flump! Noise echo through the arena. Her head swiveled and she lost groaned upon seeing Eva on the ground, with apparently no intention of getting up. She trotted over, standing in front of her friends fallen body with hands in her hips. "Eva. Up."

"Nooooooooooo," the girl on the ground groaned. "My legs hurt. I bet I've broken them. I can't stand. My arms hurt, too, so don't you f#cking dare trying to make me do gods-forsaken push-ups." There, that should have covered all the bases. Drake would have no choice but to let her lie here peacefully until she recovered. Or somehow lug her to the cabin. Or find someone actually big enough to lug her to the cabin.

"Eeeeeevaaaaa," Drake whined, resisting the urge to stomp her got. "We just started, you can't give up yet. You need t'know this stuff!" She insisted. "How are you gonna run away from a- a bad hellhound if you can't even run a single lap!" Drake huffed. If Evangeline didn't get up, she swore to the gods that she would sit on her.

"I'll just hang around you and you can kill it." Yeah, that sounded like a good solution. It didn't require any real work on her part, just some schmoozing. That sounded so good in comparison to this torturous thing created by devils in the pits of hell: exercise.

"I am not gonna do all the hard work for you all the time!" Drake insisted, even as a pleased smile graced her flushed face. It meant Eca needed her, after all, and the idea was tempting. "If you don't get up, I'm going to drag you!"

"Noooo, that's dumb... just let me lie here and sleep or something..." Yeah, sleep was sounding... wonderful... just a nice nap to restore her tired muscles a bit, and then... not more training, please, anything but more training... this was a horrible... horrible... z... zzzz...

"Eva." No reply. "Eva!" Nothing. "Evangeline Steele, did you just fall asleep during training?!" She said indignantly. Oh, it was on now. Gritting her teeth, she nudged Eva roughly in the side. "Get up!"

That nudge woke Evangeline back up, but she pretended to still be asleep. Drake wasn't going to win this that easily. She just lay there like a limp corpse, or a ragdoll, or something else that's floppy and inanimate.

Drake puffed her cheeks out, glaring down at the younger girl before reaching down and grabbing her wrist, digging her feet in and pulling. "Move it fatty! You!" tug, "Are!," tug, "Gonna!" tug "Run!"
