I watch the exchange with mild interest until I see the Harpoon launcher. I freeze on my rock.

"Yeah, go ahead." I say to the boy when he asks to sit down next to me. "What's your name?"

James sat down next to her, the harpoon launcher across his back slackened a bit so he tightened the strap a bit. "My name? I'm James, I'm not really very important around here." he said, looking out at the ocean. "And what would your name be?"

"My name's Mykayla." I respond back to the boy who had identified himself as James.

"Mykayla, that's a nice name." Remarked James as he noticed the book. Well, it was something to break the ice with. "What book are you reading? It looks interesting."
