Blowing off some steam... (PRIVATE: Anime)

"I'm so sorry," Salone said softly. She looked up at him through her bangs. All through out her life Salone wanted a parent who cared about her. Riley had one, a good and proper mother and he didn't get a chance to say goodbye. That is when she saw the date one one of the newspapers a man had been carrying.
"Hades pants! We missed Christmas." Salone stressed as she moved to get onto Hound. As she reached up pain shot through her back.
"Riley, I need help getting up." She said sheepishly. Salone really wasn't one to ask for help... in fact she found it embarrassing.

Salone gritted her teeth but despite her efforts of no noise as small whimper escaped her lips.
She used her legs to get on properly. She slumped against Hound's neck, color drained from her face.
"I vote pain killers and nap time," she muttered with a small smile. No more traveling for a while. She wrapped her fingers around Hound's collar. "Or hibernation... that sounds nice."

Riley winced as Salone let out a whimper. "I'm sorry!" he called up to her, trying to help her as best as he could. After assuring that she was on Hound securely, Riley hoisted himself up, wincing as he was forced to put weight on his sprained wrist. He managed, positioning himself behind Salone and wrapping her arms loosely around her waist, so as not to hurt her.

"I think you could use some nectar, or something. Painkillers probably won't be as effective," Riley spoke, his stomach rumbling audibly, causing him to laugh. He needed to eat, but he was really dreading a repeat of what had happened in the hospital, after he'd awakened. It hadn't been fun, to say the least.

Hound stood patiently and waited as Riley got on. Then Hound started running and the world stated blurring into colors. Dark blues, reds, and golds. Then, the world stopped move. Salone leaned back into Riley and sighed. She sat like that for a moment before straightening and sliding off of Hound.
"I was going after mortal medication for the sleepy quality," She answered looking around. They were at the cabins. Salone made her way towards the Egyptian cabin. Pushing open the door she made her way to her bunk and her bedside table. She opened it and pulled out a canteen. Opening she took a small swallow and her body relaxed. The pain somewhat evaporating.
"Nectar?" She offered. "Or do you want to wait till you feel better?"
She sat down on her bed.
Salone's bed had a big fluffy pillow and a fluffy elephant.

Salone grinned pulling the Elephant to her chest. "Don't dis on the elephant. Or the elephant will come and get you and of course you can sit. As long as you don't bite me."
She leaned onto the Riley's shoulder after he sat down, still holding the elephant. On Salone's bunk there were several hieroglyphs carved into the posts. Their meaning varied from Anubis' name to protection, to they eye of Horus and other things.
"What are you thinking about?"

Riley sat down next to Salone, wrapping an arm around her shoulders as she leaned into him. "Don't worry, I'll try to stop myself from biting you, even though I'm really hungry. I'm not really into eating people, anyway," he commented with a small chuckle. They sat for a moment in a comfortable silence before Salone asked him what he was thinking. He thought about this for a second.

"I'm thinking about a lot of things, actually. I was thinking about how your cabin is so much different than mine, how all of the Egyptian elements kind of clash with all of the camper's stuff but they also fit in quite perfectly," Riley glanced to the hieroglyphs on Salone's bedpost. "I was also thinking about how I don't understand the hieroglyphs, and that I should probably learn more about Egyptian mythology after that serpopard attack, and how nice it feels to be here with you after that, to be able to feel you here after I thought you were dead even though we're a little while past that stage."

Riley blushed slightly at his admittance of this thought. "Also how it's so weird how we haven't even been together for that long but it feels like forever," Riley stopped himself for a split second, because he was getting too hokey.

"I was also wondering what day it was. We've got to be close to New Year's" Riley added. The idea that he didn't even know what day it was frightened him a little bit.

((I almost had Riley make some innuendo about how other girls might be begging him to bite them but I figured that would be a little bit too weird LOL as it was the comment he made could be taken weirdly bahaha))

"You better not be into eating people, I think I'd have an issue with that." She placed her head in the crook of his neck. Sitting on the bed they were roughly the same height. Only a few inches of difference.
"Of course we clash, it's in the job description. Egyptian stuff is fascinating, I was interested in it long before I found out what I was exactly. Especially the bit about mummification. Brains coming out of peoples noses. That totally makes the day much better." She said sarcastically.

"Really?" She said squinting at her bunk mate's calendar. "Wow, we must have been out of it for more than a day and a half then."
Odd. That was odd. The doctors had said day and a half.
"That is strange," she muttered.
"What are you thinking about?" Riley countered. Then he reached over and pinched the elephant's ear.
"Well the first thing is why on earth are you tormenting Mr. Peanut. The second thing is I don't think we were out for a Day and a half. Seems a bit fishy." Salone bit her lip, she was supposed to be resting and not coming up with mortal conspiracy theories.

"You pinched his ear," Salone grinned.
At the word mistake her face sobered up. There were several mistakes were she was concerned and people were not happy about it. So in Salone's mind she doubted this one was a mistake. She didn't comment but she was pretty sure it showed on her face. Then his fingers traced patterns her bare shoulders, distracting her and raising goose flesh.
"Aren't you tired?"
"Absolutely exhausted," She muttered. Her eyes were halfway closed but her brain was operating extremely quickly.

"You should be sleeping too," she said quietly way to comfortable to move. She snuggled deeper into him. "For the record, your much more comfortable than a pillow. For the record, you have caused worse shenanigans."
She let out a small laugh and looked up at him.

Riley kissed her cheek, grinning as Salone looked at him. For the first time in the past few, awful days, he was genuinely happy. Any thoughts of the dull, throbbing pain in his head left him, even if he was still a little bit disoriented. "I don't know, I think holding my injured girlfriend and keeping her awake is a pretty serious shenanigan," Riley said, letting out a laugh that reverberated in his chest.

"Is it even possible for a shenanigan to be serious? It kind of contradicts the definition of the word." He spoke softly, his head leaning close to her ear. "Seriously, though, do you want me to leave? You're hurt, and I don't want to keep you from sleeping when you need to."

"No, I do not want you to leave. What made you come up with that silly idea?" She snorted. "Shenanigans, I like the word shenanigans."
Her hair tickled her nose and she pushed the stray hairs behind her ear.
"Most likely because we cause so much of it."
Indeed Salone was a devilish trouble maker. A stinker in more than one way.

Salone felt Riley lay down on her bed. She interlaced her fingers with his. Gently she lifted his head with her free hand, then scooted backwards so his head could lay in her lap. Salone's healing had been quickened by the nectar. All she felt was a dull pulsing ache in her back. She played with his hair and tickled the side of his face with her long fingers. The pleasant kind of tickling.
"I think," she said slowly. "As long as you don't loose you beans all over me, my bed, or my floor. You are welcome to stay."

Salone smiled, her long fingers tracing his ears, back and sides of his neck, and collar bone. She only paused to look up when an Egyptian bunk-mate walked in and lit some incense. Then started voicing Egyptology prayers in the corner. The words were spoken in a combination of Hebrew, Egyptian, and Greek. A rather odd combination.
"How're you feeling?"

Salone looked down at Riley, his voice was slightly slurring.
"I am feeling like I should go find an Apollo kid and see that they have healing powers and possibly look into how long we really were at the hospital."

Salone relaxed against the wall. Her brain going a thousand miles an hour. Mostly revolving around the words Who, what, when, were, and why. People don't like mistakes and most of the time were a Demigod was involved there weren't a lot. Sure there were the basic goof ups. But days missing out of one's time line?
Salone bit her lip, there was one person she knew who was experienced in this kind of thing. Dang it,
Salone did not like Italians.
That is how Salone fell asleep.

Riley slept for what seemed like a long time, because when he woke up the sun was just rising in the window. All of the tension seemed to have left his body, leaving him feeling relaxed and healthy. His stomach growled, and the prospect of food actually sounded good, for a change, and so Riley fished in his pocket for the ambrosia bar that Jance had given to him at the hospital. Riley unlaced his fingers from Salone's carefully and sat up next to her, trying his best to make sure he didn't wake her up.

It was kind of embarrassing, that he'd spent all night curled up on her lap like a little kid, but Riley was oddly grateful she'd been there. Starving, he pulled open the plastic wrap and ripped off a piece of ambrosia that he popped in his mouth. He almost wanted to moan in delight as the flavor exploded into his mouth, purging the pain that hadn't ceased inside his skull for gods know how long and probably every one of his sins with it. He couldn't even describe its flavor, except that it tasted something vaguely similar to warm, molten peanut butter. Greedily he swallowed and took another bite of the godly food, his body warming up significantly. He knew that he shouldn't eat much, but the stuff was just so good and he hadn't properly eaten in days.
