A walk in the woods at night

Bridget held her colored pencils and artist pads in tight fists as she ran, her feet pounding the forest floor as the teen excitedly ran towards the tallest of the trees. It was getting dark, and it was going to be a full moon. It was one of those things where she just couldn't contain herself. She put her pad in her mouth and her pencils in her back pocket and she climbed up a tree, trying to find the perfect angle. After a few minutes of looking and repositioning, she finally found it and took out her artist pencil and pad. The moon looked over her as Bridget began to sketch out the moon and the cloud looming around it, and the tree branches slightly obstructing her view in the most amazing way.

It was night, and it was quiet or at least mostly quiet around Camp Half-Blood. By this point people were starting to lay down but there were still a few wayward souls who would stay awake whether in their cabin or somewhere around camp. It was a more peaceful time of the day, but it also had its dangers at least it did in the world of normal humans.

In the cabin for the children of the Norse Demi-gods, a big boy, sat. Well at this point he would be closer to a man but he was still 17 so, technically he was a teen. This teen was the son of one of the more famous Norse Gods, Thor. Now if he went into public no one would think of him as a teen, mostly for the reason that the kid was around 6'7" and had the facial hair of a mammoth. As well he had a rugged structure and face like that of a being who had seem much struggle. This late teen was Anundar.

He was sitting on his bunk as a few kids tried to sleep, but he couldn't his blood was pumping and he couldn't help but feel he needed to train. This may seem strange to some as Anundar was built like a tank. In the past he was able to topple a tree with a single swing of his hammer, but he just enjoyed the art of battle. So, he figured why not go out and maybe lurk around the woods looking for monsters. 

With that, Anundar put on some light armor that was hanging in the cabin as well as grabbing his hammer. The hammer he had was a special one, it was a gift from his father Thor, and oh boy was it a beauty. Solid celestial bronze weighing in at at least 50 pounds, which at first may seem like a small amount until you realize the normal weight for this type of weapon is around 5-20 pounds. So yeah, the hammer weighed a lot. Most campers wouldn't even be able to lift it, but Anundar could, because like what was said before he is a tank. Though the hammer had one more special property. Upon impact it would let out a thunderclap that would resonate the sound of thunder, as well as increasing the damage dealt by the weapon.

And so, Anundar left his cabin off towards the woods. He could see the moon starting to show as he could only see a few people out. Most of which were already heading back t their cabins, but no matter Anundar pressed on towards the woods, and when he got there he was alone or so he thought.

He looked around for any monsters and currently saw none, but then he head something move, he twisted his head to see a humanoid figure. It was demi-god, or at least that is what Anundar thought. So the burly demi-god followed the other until he saw her stop and climb up a tree.

Anundar peered up and tilted his head. What is she doing, he thought to himself. "Hey you up there" He called out his voice deep and booming, "What in the name of Thor are you doing?!"

Bridget jumped as a large boom sounded through the forest. Looking down, she saw a large man, looking at her with a 'What the...?' look on his face. "Drawing," she called quite uncertainly,  "moon  pretty from angle, full,  trees hide perfectly..." Bridget shook her head, frustrated with her awful speaking abilities, and looked back down. She took a moment to look him over. He had a large hammer that fit in his giant hands quite nicely, a raggedy beard, and a look that reminded her of a viking. Bridget looked back over to the moon. "Bridget." She yelled softly, and looked back down at him with a smile. "Who you?"

The girl up in the tree seemed to be fixated on the moon at first but with the large burly teens mighty roar her attention was broken. Wha... she was here to draw. Out of all the places, yes the tree coverage might be making it look prettier, but still in the middle of this forest!!!!! Was the girl insane?!?!?!!? At first appearance Anundar assumed she was here hunting like him and went up the tree for a better sight but nope it was just for drawing. This confused Anundar as he was a man all about the battle and stuff like that, he even had  girlfriend once who was all artsy but was as flimsy as a twig.

"Drawing in the woods?!?!?!?!?! There are monsters about!" Anundar called out, and it was true. The forest was one of the only places in camp that allowed free roaming monsters and at night they could be extra dangerous. Her name was Bridget apparently and she wanted to know Anundar's name. Under his breath he mumbled in Norwegian, "Merkelige halvguger. Sannsynligvis Gresk eller Egyptisk." He shook his head as, the Greeks and Egyptians here were always silly in their Decision making but hey not everyone could be as strong and smart as the Norse.

"I am Anundar!" Anundar called out his voice still very deep and booming for a distance. Maybe a monster would hear and he could smash its head in. Anundar then turned as not one but two children appeared. What was this now social forest hour. One of the girls introduced the two. Okay.

"Uh hi I am Anundar," He said a little quieter now as he did not need to call up a tree. How is it going?...... "I guess it is going good," Anundar said looking down at the girls. So small probably Greek. Heck they looked even smaller than the tree girl. Were they here to fight monsters also or were they here for some fantasy fulfillment in the woods.

The next few lines Anundar spoke out more so the girl, Bridget up the tree could hear as well, "Well I am monster hunting, and the girl is drawing, and why are so many people in the woods at night when monsters are around?!?" The sound of his voice echoed and somewhere a horde of monsters were probably already on there way, but Anundar didn't care he would crush all of them. Battling was just sort of his thing, he knew that when he left camp due to age he would head right back to Norway at which point he would journey to Jotunheim to live out his life there and to hopefully die in glorious battle.

Bridget got a little upset when she saw them talking to her. Of course, they didn't know of her disability and she had no right to get upset, but It did hurt her a little bit. She hadn't learned how to say a lot of words, she had just got some basic words. Now she was at camp, how would she ask for help? Frustrated with herself, Bridget dropped her pencils and paper to the ground, and started climbing down. Once on the ground, she could see that they were talking, so she waited a moment. "Death." She said. Bridget was confused by their confused and maybe somewhat surprised looks. "Death! Death!" She said again, getting more upset. The girl stomped her foot and tapped her ear, her frustration growing.
