Zero buried her face in a pillow so that she could wince without Daz seeing. Her head. It hurt. It was like her brain was punishing her for slacking off, actually managing to ignore the fact that fate (haha punz) had determined that she avenge her sister. Adoptive sister. If anything, her mind hurt even worse than before.

Daz was still off in La La land for another minute before he turned to Zero. She was hiding her face in the pillow, which he assumed meant that she was trying to hide something embarrassing. Was it something that she'd just done? Well, besides Daz. She had definitely just done Daz, and he hoped that she wasn't embarrassed over that.

Mmph. Zero managed a pretty weak sauce smile and turned her face towards Daz. She wouldn't be able to hide the fact for very much longer, so she might as well say it. If she didn't, he might think that her expression was due to some failure on his part, which definitely wasn't the case. "I think the pain pills wore off."

Daz was smiling at Zero, and the smiled got replaced by a look fo worry. "Are... you okay? Is the headache back?" He asked. He didn't ask any questions about the sex. At this point, it had already happened, and there wasn't really a point in analyzing it over where he shoukd have noticed. Instead, he was focused on hiw Zero was feeling right then, which didn't look as good as it had been a few minutes ago.

Zero smooshed her face into the pillow again, but her muffled "Uh-huh" could still be heard easily. Gods, it hurt so bad. Zero was sorely tempted to march back to the infirmary to get some more pills. Wait, pills... holy f#cking shit, she'd forgotten all about f#cking birth control. She did not want children. At least, not yet.

Daz sighed a little, and looked around his cabin. He couldn't remember precisely where he kept all his extra stuff at the moment. He always hid some extra weapons and arrows and such hidden here, but he changed the spot frequently, and after the sex, he wasn't having spectacular memory. He and Zero would have to arm up ajd go out on the hunt again. Hopefully they'd be able to at lesst seriously maim the murderous little girl this time.

They wouldn't have stuff like that in the infirmary, would they? Probably not. They'd have to go to the city, which sounded like a nightmare. Weren't birth control pills sold from behind the pharmacy counter?Was there some kind of law about not being able to buy them unless you were over eighteen? There better not be, because Zero wouldn't be an adult until May next year, and that was obviously not a short enough time frame for the stupid things to be effective. All of this would have given her a headache if she didn't already have one. She turned over. Maybe she would be lucky, and Daz could have thought of this ages ago and stashed some of the stuff somewhere. "You wouldn't happen to have birth control pills hidden away somewhere, would you?"

Daz was looking at one of the corners of the room like it would tell him the answer. He was definitely nit expefting Zero's question. He blushed and shook his head. "I don't think I ever planned for... that." He said. That was basically because he didn't think he was going to have sex, ever, but that wasn't something he felt like admitting. His focus shifted back ti the corner, and he realized there was a problem with the way the lines intersected; they didn't call come together, but missed a bit. That was not how cabins were generally built, so he reasoned that that was where he'd thrown his magic cloak. He generally didn't use it in the summer because it kept him eather warm, but he supposed with their prey count increased from one to three, it woukd be useful.

Zero swore quietly and pinched the bridge of her nose. A city trip was necessary now, and that meant possibly fighting monsters or, more unlikely, mortals. She was tired out from Morning Activities parts I and II, and just wanted to lie down and maybe cuddle a bit and take a nap. It didn't seem like she'd get what she wanted, though. She sat up with a twinge of pain in her gut, and swung her feet out of bed. Her shoes were down there somewhere, as well as her swords (presuming that they didn't forget them at the infirmary because that would be dumb).

Daz took that as a sign that it was action time, and got out of bed, as well. He put his pants on and got a new shirt out and put it on. Then he walked over to the corner and picked up his cloak. Underneath it were two of Zero's ninja stars. Why they were there, he wasn't sure, but he picked them up and put them on his bed. Then he looked around the cabin again. There were a lot of different planks that Daz had loosened to hide things in. They were arranged in a big crescent shape around the room, but no one else would be able to tell unless they saw each one. Daz couldn't remember if he'd made it so that the ones on the end were booby-trapped and the interior ones were safe or vice versa, so he stood near the middle and tried to surface the memories. Sone of these would have arrows, some would shoot arrows

Zero took a minute to find and put on whatever articles of clothing she wasn't wearing at the moment, except for a shirt. She didn't have a shirt, still. Dangit. She probably wouldn't be able to just wear one of Daz's shirts out in the city, that would draw too much unwanted attention. They'd have to stop by her cabin real quick and snatch some clothing. Sigh. She looked over to see how close to being ready to leave Daz was. He was already dressed (how unfortunate), but he seemed to be scanning the cabin. Looking for something?

Daz saw Zero looking over at him and explained, looking bacj and forth across the cabin. "I hid stuff in the boards, but I can't remember which ones have traps and which don't." He explained, and started walking across the cabin, stepping on each hidden compartment to try to judge which ones sounded different. Of course, thus was pointless, as it only confirmed that the outer ones sounded different than the inner ones; something he already knew.

She thought about what she would do without Daz. Mope around a lot, probably, or get herself killed in some harebrained hunt. And she'd have no one to kiss or cuddle or... do other things... with. It would be a bleak existence, that's for sure.

Daz nodded, distracted by the floor and not bothering to think about what Zero said. Typical logic woukd say that you would hide things in the center, so the if someone started from one side or the other, they'd get hurt before reaching the center. But if someone had thiught of that, they'd start at the center. So Daz had to figure out which way he had been thinking. Hmmm... maybe, because his mouth was near his crescent scar, and where the scar was touching his mouth was curved... But did his mouth suggest safety or something not to be trusted. If Zero were helping him with this train of thought, she'd say comfort or security. But did that mean that the edges were secure and protected or that they were where he out things he wanted to be secure? This argument got tiresome pretty quickly, so Daz just ripoed uo the board closest to him, which was about halfway between the middle and and edge. There was nothing in there; no trap OR hidden weapons. As it was a midpoint, either way could be trals, so he'd gotten nowhere.

Zero watched Daz as he tried to figure out where he'd hidden his stuff. She flinched very slightly when he suddenly pulled up the floorboards, half expecting arrows to fly out at him. Luckily, nothing happened. Anyways, she had begun thinking about just moving all of her stuff to Daz's cabin. She usually didn't even sleep in her own bunk, and now that their relationship was considerably more intimate, she doubted she'd be sleeping away from Daz often at all. It made sense to just sort of move in. It'd be a hassle to run from cabin to cabin to get things.

Daz was rather flustered at this point, and simply moved to the center of the crescent and pulked up a board, and then jumped back, just in case. No trap activated, so he walked back over to the board and looked down the hole. There was a quiver with about thirty arrows in it, and the quiver had a sticky note that said "CB", denoting the presence of Celestial Bronze arrows. Daz bent to pick the quiver up and hesitated. He checked it carefully for trip wires. Finding none, he finally picked it up and slung it onto his back. Ah, what a conforting feeling., tobhave a quiver there. Now, the magic that called his bow out took the quiver and stored it, however that worked. All Daz knew that whenever he called fr it, the bow showed up. Then he sighed when he remembered that his sword didn't work on the same principle, and found it on the floor. He switched out his current belt for his sword belt, wondering what he'd rven been thinking.

Zero didn't feel like going to her cabin, though. It was always crowded and noisy, and being in there would surely intensify her headache. "I don't suppose you'd want to go get a shirt for me from my cabin, would you?" she asked Daz, utilizing the ages-old weapon of puppy eyes on him. "You can pick any shirt you want," she added, as if that would add some sort of extra incentive for him to do dumb things for her because she was feeling lazy.

Daz turned to look at Zero and just chuckled. "You're just too lazy to do it yourself. Do you have any other incentives you can give me?" He asked, puckering his lios and moving away fron her. Yes, she woukd have to walk across the cabin and kiss him. Of course, he didn't really need this incentive. He liked the idea of being able to pick out Zero'£ clothes. Of course, if thwy were staying here, the wardrobe would be completely different than if they went out...

"Nope, no other incentives," Zero said as she flopped back down on the bunk. "None whatsoever." She would not be tricked into putting effort into something that she wasn't even going to get up to do. "And even if I did, you'd have to come here to get it."

Daz sighed. He really hated the puppy dog face, and even thiugh it was gone, the ikage was still in his mind. There was also the fact that Zero was still shirtless. So he gave in and walked over to her. He leaned right up close to her and put his hands on her collar bone. "What kind of incentives, exactly?" He whispered, smiling mischievously.

"Oh, I wouldn't know," Zero said with an airy sigh. "You can make something up. Be creative." Her head hurt too much to think of something good, and this was a nice opportunity to make sure Daz got whatever it was she wanted. Sometimes she couldn't guess at what secret desires hid away in his heart, though her estimates were usually pretty darn close.

Daz smiled a bit more. Be creative? It woukd be pretty easy to just go basic, so he did. His hands slid partway down Zero's chest and... held fast... as he gave her a quick kiss. He pulled back, gave her anither quick smile, and then trotted out the door. The author was too lazy to make another post, so it was all lumped into one. Daz came back holding the first of Zero's shirts he'd seen- a gray shirt. He didn't know what to call it, and he didn't know whether jt matched. But he was glad he had "picked it out". It made him feel empowered. He walked over to Zero, proud of his accomplishment.

Zero waited patiently for Daz to come back, and it didn't take very long for him to return. He was carrying a plain gray shirt, and looked rather proud of himself. Pride might be a vice, but it was excellent in small to moderate bouts. She sat up and took her shirt from Daz, and slipped it on over her arms and head.

Daz had to hide his frown. He had wanted to out Zero's shirt on for her, but he supposed she was plenty capable doing it on her own. He tooked a quicj inventory; he had his bow, arrows, and sword. He had his cloak, but he hasn't put it on. He wouldn't want to wear it inti the city, as people would probably notice it to some degree, and that wasn't the best idea. So he folded it carefully, making it into a little backpack with the sleeves for straps. He out helpfuk things in the pockets, such as ambrosia, nectar, and some mortal money.

Zero tried to think of how much the pills would cost. Not more than twenty bucks, probably. Hopefully. What if they were insanely expensive? No, they couldn't be if women bought them on a regular basis. But how many would she need? Judging by recent events, a lot. Maybe they would last a little while. A month? Maybe? Wait, had she even spoken her intentions aloud yet? Daz seemed to have guessed they were going out into the city anyways, judging by how he was packing things. "They'd probably have the pills at any store with a pharmacy, so..."
