"We're going to be locked in?" I asked, annoyed. I was hungry. He should at least give us some food... cookies would be nice, but I doubted there were any here.

"I don't want to talk to the crazy lady..." I mumbled in my most scaredy-little-kid-voice. "Can you do it?"

"If I can pull of being a little brat again.." I muttered. "MOM!" I schreeched in a bratty, whiny, way.

I raised and eyebrow.. "What..?"

I winked at Cynder. I'd hid a mini-fridge in my room quite deceptively. My dad had somehow never noticed it before.

"I don't want to be locked in my room." I muttered, but started walking towards it.

Ahh... a wink, that meant that Lee was doing something sneaky. So I didn't yell at his dad to give me food again.

I came up behind Keri following him .... This was ridiculous.

I wish I could charm speak. That would make this so much easier.

I walked into my room. Apparently, it had been re-carpeted. .and the walls repaired. The last time I was here, it was all ash.

I carried Cynder into my room, and closed the door for my dad so that he wouldn't slam it.

Ah, finally. We were alone again... I really didn't like being around other people for so long. It made me angry.

I walked in, shutting the door behind me. Away from Crazy. I then walked over and sat on Keri's bed. Looking around the room.

"I tried." I grumbled.

I laid Cynder down on my bed. I laid down next to her.

I sighed, and sat down on my bed.

I bit my lip and looked at Keri. I put my hand up under his chin and made him look up at me. "I'm sorry I kind of got us into this... crazy mess.." I said removing my hand from under his chin.

It was kind of dusty in here, and it made me sneeze. Blergh. I noticed a very faint hum of electricity, like a ... refrigerator?

I blinked. "No food?"

I sighed. "It's okay. You wouldn't have been kidnapped if I wasn't there, with you." I said.

"I have a mini-fridge." I said, smiling. "It doesn't have much, but it'll keep us from going hungry."

"Oh, good," I said, happy that there'd be at least some food for a while. I still felt... confused, though. It was almost unbelievable that I'd been living right next to Lee for so long and hadn't realized it.

Robert locked the doors and barred them, then went to the oven to cook something that would smell delicious that only he would be eating.

I scooted closer to him and kissed him on the cheek. "Still. I'm sorry." I smiled at him.

"Obviously, not. Go... try and cutify her or... something"

I smiled back at Kasi.

I kissed Cynder's cheek. Then I remembered her thumb. "We need to splint your thumb."I said.

"Cienna?"I asked, trying to get her attention.

"But... I... I can't..." I sniffed - completely fake, but convinvingly enough - and touched a hand to the burned scar that passed through my eye. I didn't want to talk to crazy lady, and I was going to manipulate this somewhat gullible girl into doing it for me.

"Mhm. Is there something in here to use for that?" I asked, looking at my thumb. I worried that with the ambrosia I'd eaten earlier, the bones would already be partially set, and we'd have to break them all over again. It sure seemed like it, with the odd stiffness in my wrist and palm.

I got up and looked around. There was a pencil on the floor. My first thought was shoving it through my dad's throat.

"Hm?" I asked Caspain. Biting my lip.

I breathed a jet of fire towards her face so the flames came really close to licking her face. "Like that."I muttered.

"Are we on the thirteenth floor?"I asked.

"I think our apartment is next door."I muttered.

My eye's widened, "Really? Like- No way?" I said shockingly. "Seriously?!"

I took in a deep breath looking up at the ceiling. "So- I guess your dad.. Refurnished."
