Blowing off some steam... (PRIVATE: Anime)

Salone was off of Hound as soon as they got to camp. Looking around for Danni. Salone walked through the courtyard and checked the arenas and mess hall. She looked everywhere she could think of.
Except... Salone began to make her way towards the Funeral Pyre. Then she spotted her, holding a black shroud. Danni's hair was dark brown instead of it's fiery red. Salone stopped short, watching. Danni held the shroud over the fire as if she was going to drop it. Then she withdrew her hand, still holding the shroud. Sat down on the bench and wept.

Salone felt her throat constrict at the sight of Danni in tears, it didn't happen very often. She gave Riley a look of complete and utter loss. Then she made towards Danni, slowly like she was walking up to a cornered animal.
She sat on the edge of the bench, "Hey."
Danni looked up at her, "Hi."
Salone scooted over and Danni leaned her head on Salone's shoulder.
"I need some time," Danni said finally, standing.
"How much?"
"I don't know,"She said turning her back and walked away.
Salone watched her leave and picked up the shroud. Salone held it over the fire and dropped it in and watched it burn.

Salone looked up at the sky and then shook her head, "Why of most things did it have to come to this?" She whispered turning away. She ran her hand over her face and moved back towards Hound. Her emotions were tumbling over one over another.

Salone didn't seem to hear him, but she did seem to be giving herself a lot of grief over the death of someone she didn't know. Riley understood. Danielle had dated him, and he had made her happy, and Salone hated to see her so broken. But there was nothing that she could do about it. He stepped toward her, forcing himself to ignore the heavy scent that was expelling itself from the pyre. "Salone," he said softly, reaching out and letting his fingers graze her shoulder.

"This sounds awful, especially since his shroud is just burning now and we're supposed to be honoring him, but I think that this was meant to happen," he began, figuring he sounded like a major asshole. "It's terrible that he died, but it's karma. He was so angry all the time, always trying to be in the middle of everything... he wasn't good for her. Danielle is going to kill herself over this for a bit, but she still needs you. You can't go to pieces over some guy that she dated for a day, wondering why he died. He didn't have good judgment; he just ran straight into conflict." Riley sighed, looking down at the ground and feeling uncomfortable, bashing this guy at his funeral. Danielle would probably wring his neck.

"Look, Danielle needs you. There's too much shit going on for you to spend so much time mourning this guy you didn't even know."

Salone looked at Riley incredulous, "For your information," she hissed. "I am mourning for Danni not some half brained twit. The last three guys Danni has dated ended up dead."
Her eyes flashed amber, "Yes her choice in guys is lousy but she has had more conflict in her life than I have had in mine."
Salone clenched her jaw before continuing towards Hound.
She turned around as a thought struck, "The Ashton we met was a person who was cornered and was trying to protect the person he cared about and we only knew him under that situation. I mean, come on, he can't be all bad?" Her tone at the end turned pleading.

Salone shook her head and stared down at her shoes, abashed by her behavior.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to loose my temper." She looked slowly back at Riley, "It is frustrating and now with Danni out of the loop we have no clue what is going on."
She turned back around and jumped back onto Hound. She waited patiently for Riley while fiddling with a loose strand of hair. Salone had grown suspicious of Danni in the short time she had been away, Danni knew something and wasn't telling her. What was it?

Hound walked over to the cabins with Salone leaning against her dark short black fur. Then after Riley climbed on she leaned into him as Hound walked, creating a rocking chair effect.
"I hope your right," she murmured as she slid off in front of her cabin. "See you in a few." She flashed him a smile before walking inside.
She emerged half an hour later, clean and looking for something to do.

Riley allowed Salone to get off of Hound before him, sliding off after her. He shot her a smile back as she walked away, realizing that he had nothing to do, now. He could train, but after all the fighting that'd been going on he really didn't feel like doing so. It took a couple of minutes of thought but eventually he decided to grab a bagel or something as a quick breakfast and eat out by the lake, for no reason other than to relax and think for a while.

Salone sat on the edge of her bed, thinking. She fingered the elephant stuffed animal's ears as she gazed at the Martin sleeping on the pillow. Then Salone's tattoo shot out an electrical current causing her to jump.
"Lurking in corners again?" She asked the room.
"Well spotted," Fabian replied getting off of his bunk and heading towards the door. He paused briefly, "How are you?"
"Fine," Salone answered putting her stuffed animal down. Her nails digging into the bed, "You?"
"Good," He answered before going out the door. Salone relaxed against her wall.

((still not really sure where I'm going with this but now I have more of an idea))


After maybe a half an hour Riley got up and walked back toward the cabins aimlessly, figuring that maybe he'd go bug Salone... or maybe not, because he'd been doing that a lot, lately. He turned to enter the courtyard only to run straight into someone.

"Dude, watch-!" he began, before backing up and realizing who he'd run into. Fabian. His words cut off and a mixture of emotions spread across his face. He had no idea what was up with this guy, and he'd met him before and he'd saved Salone, but he still didn't think that he should trust him. "Hi," he said curtly, not stepping out of the way to let him pass. He didn't really know what he was doing.

Fabian had exited the cabin holding a book in his hands when he was suddenly ran into. Fabian dropped the book and he bent down to pick it up. Straightening he saw it was Riley, Salone's boyfriend.
"Hello," he answered, ignoring the facial expression of Riley's face.

Salone at that moment opened the door and saw Riley and Fabian standing. Riley's body language was tight while Fabian looked lean and relaxed, holding a book in his hand.
"I was going out for a ride," She said and slipped in between the two deciding not to get involved. She shot both boys a look that clearly said, 'If you kill each other I will murder both of you.'
She whistled for Hound and and mounted vanishing quickly.
"Yeah, I have time." Fabian said checking his watch. "About fifteen minutes before I have to go."

Riley stiffened slightly as Salone emerged from the cabin but relaxed as she left- though he'd have no one there to assist him should things go awry. He didn't know if she would assist him. She was still confusing to him, especially in her feelings toward Fabian. He smiled slightly as she left at the look on her face, forgetting to be freaked out for a little bit. Then he turned back to Fabian and allowed himself to relax a bit, even if it wasn't much.

"Look," he said tightly. "I don't get it. I don't necessarily believe that people can't turn nice after they've done something wrong, but what you did... I don't get it. Salone doesn't say much about it, but she obviously hasn't quite forgiven you for everything. How can you stay here when she's here and face her everyday like nothing happened? What's the point, if you're only hurting her more? Is there more to this story that I don't understand, because it doesn't make much sense to me at all."

Riley realized too late that he sounded dumb. He had nothing real to ask, he was just trying to make sense of this all, because in his head it didn't compute. Maybe Fabian was just a sick guy. Maybe he had nowhere else to go, but Riley still couldn't rationalize it. He didn't get it, like he'd said twice in his allegation. Subconsciously, Riley glanced to the side, and Salone and Hound had disappeared into the shadows. Maybe that should have been a good thing, but Riley was having some kind of scary thoughts as of late, and he wasn't so sure that it was.



((this is dumb I apologize LOL but I'll push through it quickly))

Fabian looked at Riley and considered his answers before him.
"Do you ever forgive someone for dying?" He finally asked, going around Riley and starting down the cabin steps. "If you do it takes a long time," Fabian looked back at Riley. "I guess you can say I died and I it took me a long time to forgive her for abandoning me."
He started down the path, tucking the book under his arm, and putting his hands in his pockets.

Fabian turned back around, scrutinizing Riley with his pale blue grey eyes.
"Can't help you there," He cocked his head to the side as if sniffing. He turned his head to the side and saw Salone leaning against the building. Her eyes narrowed.
"See ya' around." He started down the path.
Salone's jaw was clenched and she was staring daggers at Riley.

Salone turned on her heal and started walking away. Her eyes were clouding up with tears, she had trusted him not to go after those people. Salone wiped them away impatiently as she rounded the corner. He was going to leave her... they always did in the end. She felt like her stomach had gone and left her. Making her feel bottomless and empty.

Salone spun around on her heal so fast she nearly slammed into Riley, "Dang it Riley," She stated. Except she didn't say dang she actually said another word. This would have warned Riley because Salone never swore. She looked at him, accusingly.
She stated one word and one word only, "Why."
She would refuse to speak until she had heard all.
