Blowing off some steam... (PRIVATE: Anime)

"I was maybe engaged to her for two and a half of the three and a half days? I don't remember," he said, laughing and leaning his forehead closer to hers. "Why are you laughing at me?" he asked with a small smile, even though she wasn't, not yet. "Being engaged to her was difficult. She insisted upon driving the sports car and she punched me in the face, at one point. Granted, we weren't engaged, then..." his voice trailed off into a whisper. "You would've been easier... you might have let me drive the car," he finished, grinning at her before leaning forward and kissing her gently. He pulled away for a second. "If this was why you were laughing at me, you should learn to initiate things, gorgeous," he whispered, grinning before kissing her again. She was going to kill him.

"Unless, it happened to be bright red and go over three hundred miles an hour, then we may have a problem." She rolled her eyes, placing her hands on his chest. "Then again, that ride was pretty epic."
He leaned in and kissed her.
She made a small growling, pleasure filled noise... oops.
"If this was why you were laughing at me, you should learn to initiate things, gorgeous," he whispered, grinning before kissing her again.
"Your so dead," She whispered as his mouth closed on hers again. One of her hands slid up over his chest and tangled itself in his hair. Lets face it, she was Riley starved and she let him know that.

Salone growled and Riley was taken aback, but he just deepened their kiss, pulling her up against him until ow, she was leaning into his rib cage on the side where the bullet had grazed him and it hurt like hell. He pulled back, taking in a gasp of air and adjusting her so that he didn't hurt anymore, even if that meant she ended up in his lap. He didn't care. He realized vaguely just how lucky he was; if that bullet had faltered or he'd just been a little bit closer to it it could have broken a bone or made its way into his lung. "Sorry," he murmured, resting his forehead on her shoulder for a few seconds before planting a gentle kiss on the side of her neck.

"I missed you," he spoke, his voice soft. Under different circumstances, Riley might have sounded pathetic, as they'd only been apart for about 4 days, but after everything that had happened and the constant wondering if she was okay, he had missed her.

"I missed you too," She said. "Much more than you know."
Riley had shifted her into his lap and Salone had some how maneuvered her legs to wrap comfortably around his waist, the afghan lay forgotten on the floor. His head was nestled in the crook of her neck. Her free hand was tracing the muscles under his shirt, "You secretly have muscles, why wasn't I told?" She asked flirtatiously, a small smile curving her lip.

((I am totally gagging in secret... just saying. But yes, they are cute.))

Salone retracted her hand and replaced them around his neck. She was about to respond when a mental shriek stabbed through her skull.
"Ah," She moaned and pressed her palm to her forehead. Some of the fog in her mind was starting to lift. She felt like she had been looking through a kaleidoscope most of the night.
At that moment the suit door opened and Danni appeared, as herself, her arm in a sling.
"Oh, should I come back later?"
Salone shook her head, her face screwed up in pain. She disentangled herself from Riley gently and slid down his legs. Danni looked concerned and shut and locked the door behind her.
"What is wrong?"
"My head, what ever drug they pumped me full of is finally wearing off... " another stab of pain. "Pain killers... pain killers are good." Danni mumbled walking out of the room.

"Just talk. I don't care what it's about." She leaned her head against him, avoiding his hurt shoulder.
Danni came back in with a water bottle and a thing of pain killers, handed her a giant thing of pain killers and and water. She opened the thing of pain killers with one hand after she put the water bottle down on the coffee table. She dumped two of them into Salone's palm and then handed her the water. Straitening Salone took the pills wordlessly before rising to her feet and moving towards the couch.
"Go sleep in my room," Danni said. "I shall take the couch."
Salone took her word for it and made a b-line for her room. The door clicked shut behind her.
Danni bent and picked up the afghan, chucking on the couch. She winced slightly as it caused the sling to jostle her shoulder.
"The bullet fractured my collar bone." She said, "How is your arm? Nat said you got hit."

Danni arched her eyebrow, "you will do as I say and take your own bed or there will be a broken nose and I will dump what little water that is left in the bottle over your head Casanova." She growled, she was in a very foul mood, her head ached, she was hungry, and she wanted very much for Riley to shut his yap. She opened a cupboard and pulled out a tea kettle and the hot chocolate packages. Unscrewing the lid from the kettle she filled it in the sink then put it on the stove. Surprisingly, Danni was not tired, just stiff.

"I managed to take a blood sample from Salone before she left to run and meet you." She said quietly looking up at her room door. "I got the results right as I was walking up the stairs with Ian. They were pumping her with a strange ambrosia compound, it blocks out peoples powers. She's going to be in for a rough couple days."
There was a threat lacing her voice barely detectable. "I mainly want to figure out why they took her... I couldn't have been because of her scars. "
This frustrated her more than anything. She twisted the locket she had been wearing around her neck.

Danni ripped open three packets and dumped one and a half into each mug. She traced the rim with her fingers. "As in the stuff the gave her they completely OD the dose. She could seem normal but I am betting for the next few days her body is going to try and expel the stuff it took in. It means she will be sick... very sick."
Danni mixed her hot chocolate before answering his last question, "I have a way out just in case. But as far as the Hospital of Angels is concerned, Salone is dead. "
She moved to sit over at the couch, placing the mug on the table she covered her legs with the afghan.

"In order to take them completely down," Danni said slowly, "We would have to track down all of their major heads and anyone who could be a threat. So basically, we would be declaring war on the whole world. "
She took a sip of her mug and listened to Riley, "Of course they are tracking down others. I found three demigod corpses down in the basement were Salone was. We can't just announce it to the whole population of Demigods, Imagine how that will go. 'Um, yeah, you have mortals and other heroes out to kill you.' That would be slaughter and Chaos. It would give them the advantage."
She finished her hot chocolate and stood, "We'll be headed back to the states in the morning."

Salone woke that morning coughing hard, pain lancing through her abdomen. She had twisted and turned so much in her sleep that the blankets had wrapped her waist down into a cocoon. Danni was packing a suitcase, looked brand new and looked up at her, concerned.
"Did I wake you?" She asked after Salone had finished coughing.
"No," She said sitting up. "I feel fine too." She added as Danni shot her a look. When, the look didn't leave her face Salone chucked her pillow at Danni. She began the slow challenge of unwrapping herself. Danni stood and walked out, taking her full suitcase with her.
Salone stopped trying to unwrap herself as she realized she was only making the problem worse.

Danni pointed to the couch were a massive one sat open,with a smaller one inside.
"Those two are yours, mine are already packed."
At that point Salone had another outbreak of coughing. "I think the coughing is hurting her. She managed to get tangled up so much in the sheets that she is stuck. You may want to help her while I go put these in the car. Oh, that reminds me."
She pulled a tiny, disposable cell phone out of her pocket. "I picked this up this morning when I got the suit cases. There is thirty minutes left, I used twenty to call my dad and the other ten to give Jance an update. Virtually untraceable." Danni handed him the phone before walking out of the room with her suitcase.

Salone looked up when Riley entered, she had resumed the battle with the blankets.
"Need any help?"
Salone gave him a small smile, "I'm stuck. I am seriously wondering how this happened. I mean-" She broke of coughing again, "What teenager really can't get out of bed in the morning because the blankets try to eat her?" She threw her arms above her head in exasperation. She helped Riley disentangle her from the evil blankets before swinging her legs over the edge of the bed. "How's your arm?" She asked when he put the box in her lap. She picked up the box and turned it over in her hands. She opened the box with her long nails and picked up the pillow pet.
"It's an elephant!" she squealed before busting up laughing. She stopped after a minute and kissed him on the lips, "You are brilliant." She smiled.

She wiggled the pillow pet's ears at him and smiled at him. "I'm sorry you hurt, maybe you will get a massage when we get home unless your too ticklish. I know I am."
Salone smiled again at the flat comment, "He's not that flat. If I squish him like this," She demonstrated. "He can be fluffy occasionally and you can be brilliant occasionally. There a good compromise."
She made a naughty face at the "I don't think that Danielle wants to wait for us all day long while we loaf around and you obsess over a flat, pillow-shaped elephant" sentence.
"Danni stole all of my clothes." She muttered running a brush through her hair that had been sitting on the bedside table. She got up and brushed her teeth and placed the tooth brush and toothpaste in Danni's open bag. She sat back down on the edge of the bed, "Besides wouldn't it be much more embarrassing to have her walk in on us kissing than seeing you obsess over a pillow pet?"

"I don't know, I'm a bit ticklish," Riley said, laughing lightly. "But I guess that's a good compromise, though I'll go for more than just occasional brilliancy. Einstein brilliancy is preferable," he grinned, grabbing the non-flat elephant from her and wrapping his arms around it loosely. He probably looked ridiculous.

"Danielle stole all of your clothing? That's weird, I didn't think she was that type of person. A little scandalous, don't you think?" He smirked at Salone as she got up to brush her teeth, waiting patiently until she returned, sitting down on the mattress beside him. He still wasn't used to seeing her scar-less; it was such a drastic change, but Riley figured it was probably for the better. He didn't care, so much, whether she had scars or not because she was herself, but he figured it would be easier for her to be able to go out in public and not be bothered with people staring at her. Gently, Riley wrapped an arm around her waist as she spoke.

"Hm. Getting walked in on vs. being found hugging an elephant pillow pet... tough decision. Though you didn't seem to care much when we were walked in on last night..." Riley trailed off, trying not to smile. "But, then again, you weren't feeling well. How are you?" he asked her tentatively, aware that she probably wouldn't admit half of the things she was feeling right now.
