"What about your nose? You can't exactly strengthen the cartilage, and you can't prevent the fact that a proper blow to the nose can directly damage the brain. Additionally, you can lose ablot of blood from a broken or damaged nose." Kelsier said, then explained. He wasn't sure how well she spoke English, but thus far she'd managed to cope fairly well.He was, oof course, still wondering about how she dealt with blows to other areas. Obviously, he would have to try the next time they started fighting. Hopefully this wouldn't make her lose any trust for him.

"Yeah, the nose too. And I don't think the guys hit themselves in the d#ck, in case you were wondering. There's some other thing they do to protect that area. They didn't teach me." Ugh, that reminded her of the restrictions that were placed on her for being female at the monastery. No matter how many skills she mastered, she'd never be allowed to become a fully fledged monk. She wasn't allowed to advance as quickly as the other students her age, despite the fact that she was better and stronger than most of them. And it seemed like she was stuck with kitchen duty more often than anyone else. It was just so... anger-causing. There was probably a better word than that.

Kelsier chuckled a little. "Of course I wasn't thinking of that, but it's good to know. " He said. Then he noticed the look on her face after the comment about not being taught that skill, like she was applying it elsewhere. Perhaps she wasn't allowed to know as much because she was female. Of course, it was also likely that she made a face of disgust when thinking about dicks. She seemed kind of bitter towards men. Either way, he asked, "Were there other things you weren't taught?"

"... I don't want to talk about that." There hadn't, in truth, been that many things that she was just flat-out not permitted to learn. But the ones she was kept from were significantly difficult, which only made her want to learn and master them more. The monks hadn't even let her try zhūshā zhǎng, even though the whole thing was probably total bullshit anyways, and took fifteen years to supposedly master. Same thing with yī zhǐ chán gōng. Both of those techniques involved affecting things without touching them, and Li-Mei was highly skeptical now that they could be performed. Maybe by a demigod with special powers, but not by a regular human being.

Keslier nodded, projecting respect for her wishes that he didn't feel. He thought that, if there were things she wasn't taught they would be the best of the training. He figured her emotional response was due to gender discrimination after all, and knew it would only discomfort her to speak on. He figured it would be appropriate to change the subject to himself,so he asked, "What of my tactics surprised you?"

Li-Mei thought back to their brief sparring session, and considered her response. "Most of the things you did, actually. I didn't expect you to catch me off-balance when I kicked, or for you to try to tackle me. I had to mostly make up ways to avoid you as I went along, instead of using already-practiced movements." Should she mention the times when she could have retaliated much more violently? Probably, so he could learn. "There were a few times when I could have seriously injured you. Right at the beginning, when I blocked your punch, I could have grabbed your arm with my other hand and broken it. When I fell, I could have kicked you in... is sensitive the word? Sensitive areas on the way down. But you could have possibly countered those attacks, somehow, I suppose."

Kelsier was taking mental notes. Thus far, he'd been rather unpredictable to her, meaning she had to improvise. That could lead her to messing up, potentially. Her comment about being able to place more debilitating blows was worth special note. While his powers would enhance his maneuverability, this was still potentially problematic. However, he simply nodded. "Thank you for the insight." He said smoothly, smiling a bit. He needed to flirt without being obvious that he was flirting, which was difficult. Sone girls thought everything was flirting, and some the exact opposite. Kelsier still had problens distinguishing.

There was a bit of a silence, which made Li-Mei feel vaguely uncomfortable. She wasn't sure what was right to say, now, or what. Maybe it was time to leave. She still needed to finish her running for the day, after all. In the past, her training had included running up a two-thousand foot mountain path in twenty minutes, and then crawling back down on hands and knees. If she started slacking off and spending the entire day messing around, her strength would deteriorate. So she uncrossed her legs and pushed herself to her feet, getting ready to leave.

When Li-Mei began to stand, so did Kelsier. However, halfway through standing Kelsier did a quick, low leg sweep, which would knock a typical opponent of their feet. He assumed, with Li-Mei, that she would jump over his sweep and try to use that jump to plafe herself closer to him, and maybe place a kick towards wherever he was the least balanced. Soz he then guessed where should would end up next and punched in that direction with his left arm, the opposite from his right leg that was performing the sweep.

Woah- wait, did he take standing as a sign that the sparring was to be continued? Li-Mei hadn't been expecting an attack in the least, so she reacted without having the time to consciously think about softening her blows or going easy on poor Kelsier. She rooted a foot firmly in place to block the kick with her shinbone, caught his punch in her palm, and launched a rather dangerous strike at his sternum with the heel of her left palm. Her expression changed to mixed horror as she realized what she was doing a fraction of a second too late to stop herself.

Kelsier was obviously watching for her reactions, and saw her plant her foot, catch his hand, and start a quick punch. He had to think quicker than he thought possible, but he went for what seemed to be catching her off-guard previously; he used gravity to his advantage. He shifted his body's weight such that he was falling with his shoulder leading, and he hooked his kicking leg around her planted one, rather than kicking it. He also pulled his hand away from hers, hoping that she wouldn't simply grab it again, as was likely within her abilities. The result of all of this was him falling to the ground on his side, narrowly missing her punch. This was when he stopped to think about how much better of a hand-to hand fighter Li-Mei was than him. And, for the first time since Kelsier had killed his stepfather, he felt fear.

Li-Mei felt bad. She could have broken his ribcage, or worse! She was wrapped up in forming an apology for the moment, and didn't realize that she was falling down again until she was sprawled in the dirt with a foot somehow tangled up in Kelsier's leg. Oof. "Egh, sorry about that, you surprised me," she explained, sitting up. That had been embarrassing. First she'd possibly almost killed him, and then fell over like a dummy. That should have been easy to avoid.

Kelsier, upon thinking back to what had just happened, realized he could have easily decided to jump away or turn to his side to dodge the attack, rather then fall on the floor so pathetically. He had to kill this girl soon before she did some serious damage to him. He simply did not fight logically against her, but rather impulsively and desperately. He had no control, and he felt like he was a child again, being told to reread that book five times because he missed a question on the test. The last time someone had bested him, Kelsier had killed him. That was the natural order of things. The ultimate victory was in killing those above you, no matter how they might be so.

Kelsier sat up as well, intentionally keeping his legs interwoven, no matter how haphazardly, with Li-Mei's. He shrugged nonchalantly. "It was good to see how you are at your best, rather than how you are when restraining yourself. " He said, and gave her a little smile. "I didn't realize how good you truly are. I am... humbled."

Li-Mei blinked a few times as those words sunk in. It was a rare thing for her to be complimented, truly complimented, in a way that wasn't repulsive or demeaning. She thought back to not so long ago, when that Caspian kid had hit on her in a highly inappropriate manner. It was very unlike the much more polite things Kelsier was saying now. Maybe all the men here weren't so bad after all, even though the 'nice' one had thrown a spear at her. Perhaps they could be friends or something. A friend would be nice.
Wrapped up in her thinking, Li-Mei didn't realize she was slightly flushed, from her embarrassment at falling over and from the complimentary statements.

Kelsier smiled when he was that Li-Mei was smiling. It was a smile out of malice, but Kelsier had long ago learned how to make his smiles have meanings differently than those expressed. Anyone good at picking up expressions would assume that he was genuinely giddy over the fact that Li-Mei was blushing, and probably assume that he liked her because of it. Of course, he was actualky smiling because he was his plan falling into place. She mudt be either falling for him or starting to trust him. This was good.

Kelsier stood up and offered a hand to Li-Mei, knowing full well that she didn't need his help to stand up. She probably didn't have to move her arms or legs to be able to get up. The kind offer, he was sure, would build confidence. Confidence built trust. And with trust, he could significantly increase the toll he had on Li-Mei's life.

Li-Mei didn't need help getting up in the least, but she figured it would be highly rude to refuse the offer. So she took Kelsier's hand and allowed herself to be pulled to her feet. She let go of his hand rather quickly afterwards, as she didn't want to give off any impressions that she didn't intend to... no, wait, what if that was a rude thing to do? Argh, social conventions were so confusing. She missed the simple days at the monastery, way before she'd even known about all this strange Greek crap, when no one gave a flying f#ck about if she said the right thing to them or held eye contact (to a certain extent) or whatever. When she didn't have to worry about making friends. Friends were... difficult. Anyways, she was just kind of standing there again. "So, uh, now what?"

Kelsier noticed the quick slip of the hand, and realized she likely did not think of him sexually at all. Well, that ruined a part of the plan, but that was acceptable. He considered what his next move should be. Obviously, she had been out excersizing to some extent earlier before being interuppted, first by the pathetic demigod that had been left... incapacitated. And then, of course, by Kelsier himself. If she was thinking on that, the wiser choice would be to tell her she could go about that. Perhaps meet with him again some time. On the other hand, Kelsier was impatient and wished to progress this as quickly as possible. He had a reputation to protect, after all.

Before Kelsier made a decision, some other demigod walked in to the arena. He was immediately on guard; he had several people who would try to kill him if given the chance. He dd not, however, know who tuese people were, or they'd already be dead. Generally, he woukd already be attacking this ingrate, but he had to keep up appearances around Li-Mei.

Felix walked in through a back entrance into the arena. Well it wasn't exactly a 'back entrance' per say, but it was an entrance that was not often used. For some reason he preferred to use this entrance just so he could enter unnoticed. He had his hood up now, pulled pretty far forward as to keep his face hidden, as he walked towards one of the worn training dummies they had lying around. As his walking pace began to slow, he held his hand out and focused on summoning his sword.

A faint buzzing sound rang through his ears as sword began to appear before him, appearing as a sort of blurry mirage before him and any other viewers. As the sword became less blurred he wrapped his fingers around the handle and lifted upwards. His eyes locked onto one of the dummies as he went forward. He let out a brief grunt as he lunged forward and shoved the blade into the dummy's chest. The blade easily went in one end of the dummy and out the other, not that it wasn't a hard task to accomplish. Felix wasn't in the mode to boast about any sword-fighting skills he had or didn't had, he just felt like stabbing on of the stupid things to get rid of some anger. Just as quickly as he stabbed the dummy, he made a swift motion and lifted the sword upwards, making a clean cut and leaving the dummy dangling in two swaying bits.

He took a few steps back and take a few, consecutive, deep breaths. Glancing around the arena, he had just now noticed the presence of two other campers. Tilting his head slightly at them, he lowered his weapon slowly, as to make the notion that the dummies were the only things he wanted to maim.

Li-Mei turned to look in the direction this new person had come from. With a hood pulled over their head, they looked like a pretty shady character, actually. And their sword had appeared seemingly from nowhere. Magic? Was stuff like that common or rare? She assumed rare, seeing as she'd only seen weapons appear like that a couple of times. Their body language said they were in quite a mood, and so did the vigor with which they stabbed through that dummy. At least they didn't seem to be looking for a fight with people.
Anyways, what was she supposed to do now? She still needed to finish her run. She should go. "So, uh, I guess I'll see you some other time?"

Kelsier was watching the new arrival carefully, judging his form. It seemed like his sword was a bit too heavy for him, but he made up for that with power behind each movement. He would be a compotent foe, certainly. He turned to Li-Mei when she started talking. He smiled at her. "That sounds like a good idea. I'm assuming you're going to go off and finish whatever exercize you were doing earlier?" He asked, and, recognizing she didn't quite under stand the social conventions behind eye contact, looked back over at the newcomer. He moved so that his mouth was obscured from Li-Mei's view and gave the kid a devilish grin, one to say You've been chosen as my next victim. He then casually turned back to Li-Mei.

Felix noticed that they were both now looking over at him, the guy more than girl. The guy seemed to be watching him attack the dummy, almost studying him. He started feeling a little uneasy now, he'd have to stay on his feet. A slight gust started blowing through the area, immediately blowing the hood off of his head. He was a little irritated at how easily this hood came off, honestly he'd probably have to find a new one.

He looked down at his sword and made a sort of movement that made the top sway up and down a little. It wasn't that heavy, and with a little more training he would be able to swing that thing around with deadly speed. He blinked as he felt the wind blow through his messy hair, he noticed now that the boy was grinning at him, a sort of deviousness to it. 'Okay, don't trust that one' he thought to himself as he watched him. He noticed now that the horrible marks on his eyes were probably visible now to the two of them. He glanced over at the girl now, trying to see if she had any sort of look on her face that would indicate a threat.

Li-Mei noticed that Kelsier was looking at the newcomer again. Was there something going on over there? She looked back again. Judging by the short hair, the person was a boy, and... he had strange marks on his face. What were those? Was it some kind of American fashion? Whatever the case, it was best not to ask, and she turned and started to leave the arena.

"Goodbye, Li-Mei. I looked forward to seeing you again." Kelsier said politely, and had water swirl around his hand once he was rather confident that she was gone. Now, he wasn't going to start thrashing down on this kid when there was a chance that Li-Mei could come back for something. A brush, or shoes, or some shit like that. He did not see a problem with messing with the kid's mind, though. Kelsier sumkoned his trident, water swirlingbout from his hand and into the proper shaoe before solidifying into the Celestial bronze beast of a weapon. Then, he threw it at the dummy that was closest to the demigod dummy with weird shit happening to his eyes. It was a prettyfar though, and Kelsier was glad to see it hit the dummy and break the pole the dummy was standing on, knocking the whole thing over.

Felix's eyes trailed along the one girl as she walked out of the arena. As soon as she was out of his sight, his eyes darted back to the guy. The guy had water swirling around his hand now trying to produce or threatening sort of atmosphere. Felix safely assumed this kid was a water god, perhaps Poseidon or even more infamous deities. There weren't that many water sources though so he wasn't in winning territory, but that doesn't mean you can etch him off as a crappy fighter. He watched as the water solidified into a gigantic trident, those over-sized forks were pretty menacing, but Felix still didn't feel worried about it. With a swift motion the kid chucked the weapon towards Felix, hitting a dummy nearby clean off the pole.

Felix didn't even tense up as this weapon crashed into the ground, he flashed a small little smirk as he sized up the guy. If a fight did break out, it would be a hard one. After briefly looking back at the wreckage of the dummy the kid had made, he looked back over at the guy and decided to speak.
"Spooky.." was the only thing that came out, a rasp growl of a sound that had escaped his throat. As he had finished the final syllable, he could feel his eyes suddenly burn. He could tell from past experience it was his powers aching to be used. His power to tap into the mind of other's and find their worst imaginable fears had become quite the unstable thing in the last few months. It would act up at random, causing his eyes to flash a pitch black, a fiery aura burning across them. It was how he had gotten the marks on his eyes, his powers had burned gnarled, black markings around his eyes. It made him a bit afraid to use his powers now, and he made a vow to use it as a last result. He was just afraid of the pain that came from using it now, it was suffering that he had dealt with a lot during his absence from this camp.

regardless of this, Felix remained unmoved and emotionless in appearance. As far as he could tell, the guy across from him had probably just seen his eyes burn black, a black fire raging across them. Maybe even a sense of paranoia or fright crept around him. This was hard to determine, Felix could never understand the full effects of his powers after all.

Kelsier watched the guy very closely. He was obviously not one to frighten easily, but he now knew that Kelsier was a threat. Of course, Kelsisr had to show him so very clearly, so he filled the entire arena floor with about an inch of water, and had a funnel of water swirl around him. He then trleported to an area behind the guy, and had the funnel, stilk where he used to be, fall. Kelsier had noticed the eyes burning, and wondered if a little salt water might help the problem. "Your eyes appeared to catch on fire." He said from behind the dude. "I would recommend submersing them in salt water for at least six minutes. To ensure this treatment is effective, make sure your mouth and nose are also beneath the water level."
