"You really need to work on your manners." He says, scowling. He proceeds to sit down on a bench in the warm, sunny light, and sighs. "What is the deal with you being so bitter anyways? Other than the obvious, 'ooooh, I lost my leg' ordeal." Xavier asks with a slight jibe tossed in there.

"Shut up," I replied with a scowl of my own. I was pretty good at scowling while sitting on horses. It was a favorite pastime of mine. Anyways, I didn't need to explain myself to this kid, even if he did sort of save my life. I nullified that by taking him to the Infirmary, right?

Xavier smiles a cocky smile. "Mhm. Sure. Now come down and make me." He says condescendingly. He then sighs again, and rolls his head back. "Sorry, Alice. I try not to act like a jerk when I'm tired, but it's sort of hard to be wide awake when you're a son of Hypnos." Xavier says, shielding his eyes from the sun.

No, no, it didn't even matter that he apologized afterwards, I was not going to put up with shit. I pulled on Fotia's reigns and turned her around, and she started just walking away. Good horse, best friend.

Xavier looks up, and sighs. He is just so damn terrible with girls. He starts to stand up, but sits back down. After thinking about it for another 30 seconds, he gets up, and attempts to catch up with Alice.

Well. I made a point of ignoring Xavier, and kept sitting on a walking horse. Yup. The horse was still walking. Imagine that. I thought about saying something incredibly sassy and/or witty, but that might just ruin the effect that my ignoring-ing was putting on. Wow, 'ignoring-ing'? My English was impeccable.

When Xavier is close enough, he sighs. "Look, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean for it to come out like that." He starts apologizing. Xavier hesitates to say anything more, lets anything else stupid comes out of his mouth. "I.. just.. it's harder for me to concentrate when I'm tired, and I usually do stupid shit. I honestly didn't want to insult you, but words just sort of flow out of my mouth when I'm tired."

Bluh. I pulled gently on the reigns, and Fotia stopped walking. I looked down at Xavier with another one of my excellent scowls. "Fine, then. Apology accepted." Yes, that was suitably cold and calculating. Now what was I supposed to do/say? Probably something sassy and/or bitter.

Xavier smiled slightly, but couldn't think of much else to say. He twiddles his thumbs idly for a moment, and then sighs once more. Damn did he like sighing.

"Well? Is that all you have to say?" I snapped, feeling very impatient all of a sudden. I had better things to do than sit here and do nothing. Well, I probably did. Nothing actually came to mind that would be more productive. But, still, there had to be something. Like napping, or sitting in a corner and moping about my life.

Xavier twiddles his thumbs, looking slightly embarrassed. "Well... I suppose. I suppose that what I have to say is an outright apology.." he starts. He hesitates for a moment, before chokes out, "that, and you also look very beautiful when you're riding." He stares at the ground, feeling like he wanted to crawl into a hole filled with poisonous scorpions.

... wha. A sudden compliment out of left field. I blinked in confusion a couple of times, and tried to work out some kind of snarky retort. How was I supposed to backsass a compliment? Dammit, was I blushing? Yes, I was. I coughed awkwardly and looked in the other direction. Nope nope nope nope nope this was not cool. Do you hear me, mysterious plotters of things? Not cool.

Xavier stares at the ground, and mumbles something incomprehensible out. After clearing his throat, he looks up, and asks politely, "Uh.. would you like to... join me for a meal?" He fidgets a bit, embarrassed as hell.

I was inclined to say 'No, go drown yourself,' but instead a muffled "Sure, why not?" emitted from my mouth. Wow, I felt ridiculous. And I was suddenly very aware that I hadn't bothered to do anything better-looking than braid my hair this morning. Why was I even concerned about that all of a sudden? Arghrghrghh.

"... yup." Wow, this felt awkward. I sort of regretted accepting the offer now, because of this horribly painful oh-shit-what-do-I-do-now silence, but it wasn't like I could retract what I said. That would be horribly mean. Even I wasn't that awful. I guess this meant it was about time to get off of the tall equine.

I run into the Infirmary violently "Hey weaklibngs! I'm back" By this point i had realized that i had to apologize to them somehow. I had just gotten through my break up with Alex. And it quickly turned really sour. So I got my anger out by trying to kill them. Ummm.....not my best choice

Oh, gods. No. Not putting up with this shit nope. I just gave the d#uche who entered an exasperated look. If the dude tried to attack us again, we'd be so very dead. Maybe they would leave us alone. If worst came to worst, I could ride away on a horse and leave Xavier to his death. It would probably be less painful than attempting to go on a lunch date. Romance wasn't exactly my thing.

On the other hand killing them would not be a bad idea. Some status points in this asylum would be nice. At least both of them were still alive so I could apologize. According to the fortune cookie, I need to be nice. What better person to be nice to than one that I tried to murder!

I narrowed my eyes slightly. I wasn't inclined to believe people when they apologized, and even less likely to do so when they were incredibly suspicious and known to be violent. But it might be a good idea to humor him, keep him in a good mood so Xavier and I wouldn't be attacked again. I didn't care to die today. "Oh. Alright then. We'll just forgive you and be on our merry way, then." Damn, that came out more sarcastic than I intended.

Carmen shadow-traveled the small group into the infirmary, then let go of the two children. Some of the shelves were high-up, and the ambrosia was probably in one of the tall ones. He started opening cupboards, looking for the godly food. Bandages, more bandages, band-aids, hmm... ah, there. A whole drawerful of ambrosia. He took a ziploc bag full of it and opened the thing, and then remembered to ask an important question. "Who's your god parent?" If the little girl was the child of a minor god, she would be able to stand less of the stuff than the child of, say, one of the big three.

Once they had exited the shadow world, Evangeline realized that she had gone very pale and had goosebumps all over her skin. That place terrified her more than nearly anything. It was so... just... unnatural... how Drake could even stand it was beyond her. Speaking of Drake, she didn't seem to be doing so well.

Drake was gasping as they exited the shadow world. While normally she didn't mind it, it yanked you around a bit and ow. She clenched her teeth, stumbling slightly and wrapping her arms around her middle once more "Than'tos." She grunted.
