I look around New York. It was pretty awesome here, I had to admit. I look over at Riss. "Where do you want to go first?" I ask her.

"Barneys..." She said trailing off as they were soon joined by a tall man in a black trenchcoat; Sam. "Long time no see." Riss joked punching Sam in the arm. Sam rolled his eyes, "Alright my little model, we go to Barneys and we get red heels, jeans, black trenchcoat, fedora, and Dior sunglasses. Got it? No funny business. Seriously." Sam said as he wandered off into the general direction of Madison Avenue. Riss rolled her eyes. Like she couldn't be trusted with a couple grand in Sam's name. She grinned. This was going to be fun.

I stand next to her, feeling like I don't belong here. What did I know about fashion? I chuckle slightly. My mom would laugh at me if she found out that I had somehow ended up in New York City with a model. Not that that was the point. I like Riss. I wonder who the guy is. Probably her agent.

"Don't worry, you'll be fine. By the way...that was Sam. My agent. He's nice enough. He gets me money. Unfortunately I'm one of those models who doesn't get stuff for free. Sucks." She said waltzing into the store. She felt out of place as well, wearing her ratty yoga pants from Pink and a sweatshirt. She got a few funny looks from the employees but the manager marched up to her and squealed in his homosexual voice, "Aryssa Heart, darling!" She and him air-kissed on both cheeks briefly. She loved Moshi. He was amazing and homosexual. He really helped her when she was shopping, "Mosh, I need a few things." She said as she flashed her list in front of him and his eyes went wide, "Ohhh! Your diving back into your modeling carreer! Oh I'm so proud of you, darling!"

I nod, taking in everything. I smile, and look at this Mosh person. I shrug. He seemed nice enough. Not that he probably even cared who I was. I ponder how much money this stuff is, and decide I don't want to know. I decide to just go along with whatever Aryssa does.

Moshi briefly started pointing things out in the general direction of where things where. Riss smiled and nodded and thanked him when he was done. He flounced back to the cash register and helped out a young lady who looked middle class. Or so Aryssa thought. She walked back to Noah and smiled, "Let's go. Upstairs is where they keep the shoes." She said taking his arm and dragging him upstairs.

"Ok," I head up the stairs with her, removing her hand from my arm and holding it instead. I was overwhelmed by the enormity of this store. "What sort of shoes are you supposed to be getting?"

"Five inch heels," She replied solemly as she looped their arms again. "Red. Probably Gucci." She grinned. Riss loved Gucci shoes. Absolute love. They made her feel pure and holy again.

I nod. "Cool," I say, smiling at her. We reach the top of the stairs. I notice a strand of hair fell in her face and I push it back. Gah, what was I doing? I'm an idiot. I walk over in the general direction of the shoes, not really knowing where to go. We end up standing in front of winter jackets.

Riss felt slightly self-conscience of herself when she felt his fingers graze over her face slightly. She nearly jerked back away, but she let herself be still. Aryssa started laughing when they ended up in front of the winter coats; Moshi must've moved things around. "Come on, smartie-pants, the shoes are over there." She said pointing to the huge part of the floor where all the designer shoes were held. Her eyes nearly glazed over just looking at all the heels, flats, boots and other things.

I laugh. "You're right, I am smart. Those jackets sure look like shoes," I say as we make our way towards the shoe department. "Holy gods..." I murmur as I stare at all of the shoes. How did girls manage these stores? I chuckle, "Time for an adventure." I say jokingly.

"Yeah...can you imagine Black Friday in here? I was there for Black Friday once. Oh my gosh...it was awful. All the pushy and shoving and punching and the kicking and biting and hair-pulling..." Riss trailed off as she saw a pair of red strappy heels perfect for the runway. She saw another woman glancing at them but looked away when she saw Riss's perfect model body strutting towards them. 'You must act like you want them more.' She thought as she grabbed them.

I chuckle, shaking my head. "That must've been fun to watch." I state, looking around at all the stuck-up looking women in this store. My phone buzzes. I curse under my breath. Stupid monsters. Hopefully none will come and decide to attack us.

Watching him pull out his phone, Riss's gaze held shock, "Are you nuts? Don't answer that! We're in New York City for Christ's sake and you're answering your phone?!" She hissed under her breath and she grabbed the phone from his grasp and stuck it in her pocket.

I hold up my hands as if I were a criminal. I didn't even remember taking my phone out. "I'm sorry, Riss. I meant to shut it off before we came but obviously I forgot," I sigh, shaking my head. "I wasn't going to answer it either way. I'm sorry, I honestly had no intention of doing that," I tell her sincerely, glancing around the store. The coast looked clear, but with monsters you could never be sure. Especially being a son of Apollo, one of the more known gods. I yell at myself internally. "Can I please have my phone back so I can shut it off?" I ask her, holding out my hand.

"No. I do not trust you to have a hold on your phone anymore." Riss said as she shut the phone off herself. She gave him a brief smile and dropped it in her purse with a thunk. "There. You are now currently grounded by me, from your phone." She said as she walked off down one of the shoe sections with her box clutched to her chest, tightly.

I follow her. Was she mad at me? I couldn't tell. She had smiled at me. Was she just kidding? Gah, I wish I could read people's emotions. I frown. "You seem very protective over those shoes," I joke, smiling at her.

"Are joking? This is New York. The rich part anyway...these women in here would pounce on me if I wasn't doing this. Seriously. It's like Black Friday everyday in here." She said marching onward, like a soldier on the battlefield. "Hell, they'd probably maim me for these shoes. Or if they knew who I was."

I chuckle, following her. Gods, I felt out of place in this store. I shrug.

Noticing his look of dismay, Riss smiled comfortingly, "It's alright, you don't have to belong here. You just have to belong with someone who does belong here." That was the most comforting thing she could've said to him. It was the truth, though. He really didn't belong here. He was too...what was the word? Poor? Noo...more like...an out-of-towner. Sorta.

I smile back at her, knowing that she realized the same thing as me. I try to hide any other emotion from my expression. I hadn't really meant for her to know that. It was sort of... not creepy, but odd that she could read expressions. Don't get me wrong, it was pretty cool, if you were the one on the reading end. "I guess so."

"All righty, now that that's out of the way..." She said as she cooly sauntered over to register. She flashed a flirty smile at the cute man guy working it and flipped her hair. It was an old trip to distract people, or in other words, rip them off. He blushed and they hit off a conversation while Riss started to mess with the tags, fiddling with the bar on the tag. The price came up on the screen as much lower. She payed quickly and the guy watched her walk off, swinging her hips. "Come on, Noah!" She called over her shoulder.

I gawk, somewhat confused at what just happened. Was she flirting with him for real or just..? Gods I was slow. She was probably doing some sort of model thing. Once I realize that I was wasting her time by standing there, I walk away quickly to catch up with her. Was shopping with girls normally this confusing?

"You'll be fine." Riss rolled her eyes at him. The corner of her mouth was turned up in a slight smirk. She didn't even have to look at him this time, his confusion was rolling off him in waves, almost like he'd worn too much Abercrombie perfume. Kinda like the actual store. Riss hadn't been in Abercrombie since her first ad in there. It hadn't been easy to land that job. Sam had to pull a ton of strings for that one. Sam was a son of Hermes, so it was easy for him to be a manager/agent for modeling. Either that or a salesman.

I sigh. "Oh no, I'm not concerned about myself at all." I smile slightly, realizing she must have known my confusion. "Do you do that to every cashier you meet?" I tease her. She must've been trying to get something from him. Yeah, that's it.
