Greetings!
Welcome to Half Blood Mania, an awesome site for demigods, nature spirits and mortals alike! In case you’re confused, and you don’t know where to start, here are a few pointers:
1.) The first thing you should do upon arriving is introduce yourself! You can make your introduction by making a new topic in
this forum. Just say hi, tell us about yourself, and you’re sure to be welcomed! In this topic, and anytime you talk out of character, you can just be yourself, the user behind the role-playing. Most out of character talk takes place on the
Chatbox and in the
General Board.
2.) The second thing you should do is read the
rules. They're pretty easy to follow, and if you ever have an issue with another member you can fill out an
Incident Report Form and send it to a staff member!
3.) Visit the
Unapproved Character Forms forum, and find the
character template. Create your character according to these guidelines, filling out all of the requirements: physical description, godly parents, guidelines, etc. Try to make this form as nice as possible. If you need any inspiration, or an example of a good form, look at the
Approved Character Forms forum and sift through the entries there, as all of them are approved and pretty decent forms.
4.) Post your completed character form as a new topic in the
Unapproved Character Forms forum, and wait for one of our approvers to give their feedback or approve it. Once it is approved, you may start roleplaying whenever you’d like! Just scroll through the site and make a topic in a location of your choice (some examples are the
Mess Hall and the
Beach). If you need someone to roleplay with, feel free to ask in the chatbox or make a post in the
Official Roleplay With Me Topic. Follow the rules and enjoy!
THINGS TO REMEMBER:
-If you are posting in one of our roleplay sections of the site, like the lake, please remember to either be in character or, if you want to say something as yourself, indicate that you are out of character using “OOC:” or “((insert OOC message here))” or changing the font color. Refrain from double posting unless you are posting something over two days after your previous post.
-Try to be as literate as possible with your posting. This means, refrain from using internet slang while roleplaying, such as substituting “u” for “you” and “nd” for “and,” among other such abbreviated terms. Try to use your best spelling and grammar, and make your posts as detailed as possible. It will only help you become a better writer in the long run, and it makes your roleplay so much more interesting! For writing assistance, you can always ask any of our staff members for help or look through the forums for inspiration.
-Your first character CANNOT be the child of a Big Three god or a Titan. In time, once you stay on the site for long enough and prove your ability to maintain a Big Three character, you may apply
here to purchase one from our site shop.
Anyway, welcome to the site, and I hope that you have an awesome time here! If you have any questions at all, send a message to a staff member or ask in the chatbox and we’ll be happy to help you!
In demigodishness and all that,
The wonderful administrators of Half Blood Mania
